This is a nice hotel. I chose it as I like chain hotels, so you know exactly what you'll get and I wasn't disappointed. The room was a decent ice for a single, with a comfy bed and good en suite. The hotel offers free wifi in rooms, which was one reason I chose it. I was concerned about noise when I was in the room in between the lift and the staircase, but it wasn't a problem! The hotel is quite a walk from the Alesia metro station, but is located in a quiet street, which felt safe during the day and evening. I would recommend this hotel and I will probably stay here again on my next visit to Paris.

We were two families of which three of us were taking part in the Paris Marathon. Ideally situated for getting to Expo to register and didn't take very long on the metro to get to the start of the race. Also in a good location for visiting the sites of Paris. We also wanted to visit Euro Disney while we were there for a couple of days and it takes about an hour each way on the metro. Rooms quite small but adequate. Shower also quite small but powerful. Clean rooms and beds very comfortable. I loved the breakfast room in a querky cave like setting which helped me to choose this hotel. I particularly would like to thank the lady serving breakfast at the beginning and end of our break. She was very helpful with warming up my pre marathon bowls of porridge and always smiling. It's a shame there wasn't the facility for evening meals and would be an asset to the hotel if it was made possible. Great break with lovely memories.

Two connecting rooms for a family with 2 older children are small and compact. But there are everything we need to stay for a short city trip in Paris.
Location is OK though Monparnasse Station is not walking distance if you have luggage with you.
Some restaurants in the area have delicious & reasonable lunch offer.

Although the rooms were a little small, what does a traveller really need except a good comfortable bed with feather pillows and cotton sheets and a powerful hot shower with plenty of fresh clean towel?Tea and coffee making facilities were also available in the foyer along with freshly baked pastries. This hotel has the added bonus of including breakfast, which although is only a continental choice there is a wide range of options, including cereals, yogurts, freshly squeezed juice, fruit and pastries. It is extremely difficult to find a reasonably priced breakfast option in Paris so consider that when making a reservation.
The hotel is easy to find, less than five minutes walk from the Alesia metro station (line 4) which can be caught from St Michel, the metro stop near Notre Dame and the Latin Quarter. This is particularly useful on an evening as traditional , hearty meals can be obtained in the Latin quarter for a fraction of the price of more exclusive eateries and there are many 'set menus' to choose from starting at 10- 15 euro. Delicious food ,so don't be fooled at the reasonable price. I heartily recommend a place on rue Severin where a roast suckling pig spins around on a spit and should not be overlooked. Their boeuf bourginion is also a must. Drinking the tap water is also acceptable as many British travellers are reluctant to and guide books never really provide the information a traveller needs. Tiny macaroons are also widely available and should be sampled especially from local patisseries.
Travelling around Paris is relatively easy and it's cheaper to purchase ten metro tickets from the ticket machines. Using a credit card is fine as the machines only take coins and its unlikely that you will have lots on arrival. Arriving at the CDG airport take the local train (RER B) to the Gare du Nord and from there any connecting metro to your hotel. The above hotel has an advantage as you can go directly from CDG to the St Michel station ( the stop for Notre Dame) and then change directly onto the metro. This station is quieter and a little easier to navigate.
Any tourist who wants to visit Paris will have their planned itinerary but it is essential to visit Notre Dame, take a boat trip on the river Seine and wander along the Champs de Élysées arriving at the Arc de Triomphe, which can be climbed and offers spectacular and seldom seem views over Paris. Another worthwhile viewing point is from the Sacre Coeur. For a small charge, a tower can be climbed, again offering breathtaking views. Take the metro line 4 to Chateau Rouge and follow the clear signposts for 5 minutes.
Tourists rarely choose to visit the Eiffel Tower at night and yet this shows Paris illuminated in all its glory and offers a complete comparison of the city. Tickets can be pre booked on the Internet via their official site (18 euro) to avoid any queues and providing complete access to all floors. It's a Paris must -even if you're scared of heights. Again use the metro, line 6 to Bir Hakeim.
Escaping Paris for the day with a visit to the Palace of Versailles is also worthwhile. Trains leave every 15 minutes, again from the St Michel station but change for the RER C train. It's a 30 minute journey for a few Euros and don't allow yourself to become confused as the train terminates at Versailles then it's just a short walk to the palace. On returning to the station all trains go back to the centre of Paris. To avoid more queues these tickets can be pre booked on the Internet via their official website and allows entry to the complete facility.
Finally, unless you're a true and passionate art enthusiast, a visit to the Louvre will only serve to tick off the Mona Lisa from your 'to do' list. Obviously that's a personal opinion but you won't particularly see any other 'famous and well know' works. Tickets can be pre booked although this was difficult to do and can instead be purchased from a Tourist Information Centre. I did however only locate one of these near the Palace of Versailles.
February was the perfect time to visit, although bitterly cold there was no rain and a distinct lack of tourists. As it was my first time to Paris I cannot say whether this was an impact from the global recession or a period when many Europeans would opt for a ski ing trip. There were limited queues and nowhere was quite as hectic as I'd imagined.
Take a good street map, use the metro to avoid tiredness and when you're out and about good, clean toilets can be located near the Louvre in a small indoor shopping mall. A few French phrases would also be useful as limited English is spoken, however staff at the stations have good communication skills and ticket machines can be selected with English translation. Hopefully this information will help you have a wonderful visit to Paris.
