“Something different...nice!”
Reviewed August 3, 2013

We were looking for something different in the Montmartre area and La Gazelle didn't let us down. We were intrigued by Chez Leila as we watched her the day before while dinning across the street and decided to give her authentic looking establishment a try. I had a very delicious and juicy tender chicken with green olive tagine and my husband had couscous royal (4 different meats with vegetables in another delicious sauce). Chez Leila was attentive and helpful with her limited English. She topped of our enjoyable experience with a small dessert delight on the house. A additional bonus was the live music playing across the street...vocals and guitar of a local genre...very nice.

“Great homestyle couscous”
Reviewed July 30, 2013

If you you're in the mood for friendly service and no nonsense couscous, you have to check out La Gazelle! It's a small, casual, neighborhood restaurant where the couscous will not disappoint. It's the place to go in Montmartre to get your couscous fix!

“La Gazelle chez Leila, good but too much focus on attracting new clients”
Reviewed July 19, 2013

If you want to eat on the street, between cars, near Montmartre, this is a nice place to be. The owner, who owns several places in the street is very commercial and fixes her efforts in attrtacting new clients and sometimes forgots her clients who are dining in her restaurant..
The food is good, maghrebin, quite oil impregnated, but correct. Price/quality is fair.
No Belgian beer anymore, despite the Jupiler logo, only the usual flat Heineken yellow brew and a French beer Kronenbourg.

“A taste of Africa in the heart of Paris”
Reviewed May 12, 2013

Amongst dozens of restaurants and bistros in Monmatre with very similar menus this offers something different - a taste of North Africa. If you are happy with delicious, authentic food in simple surroundings this is the place to go. On our first night in Paris we ate delicious tagine dishes with a superb rose wine at a very reasonable price. A great start to our holiday.

“Robust Montmartre North African - worth a visit”
Reviewed April 22, 2013

As Montmartre is pretty touristy we wanted to avoid any places where gullible tourists would be ripped off. We also thought north African food would be good in Paris. As such La Gazelle appeared to meet our criteria. The decor is fairly basic and the place has the feel of an old-fashioned family establishment. We had a tagine and a cous cous dish, both were substantial and fairly rustic although the cous cous itself was far superior to the type I make myself (from a packet!). The Moroccan wine was good and we finished with a mint tea and a complimentary small dessert. La Gazelle doesn't offer a sophisticated evening but if you fancy an unpretensious and relaxed north African experience I would recommend it.
