This is a really nice little boutique hotel on Ile Saint Louis, which is the romantic little ile just South of Notre Dame. It is on a site that was essentially what we today would consider an indoor tennis court.

A word of warning - our room was on the top and had a tight spiral staircase, so anyone with knee problems or can't make steps should inform the hotel when booking.

This is a great hotel. Not cheap but very good value. Perfect location on the Isle St Louis, an oasis of calm in the centre of Paris. Quiet room, comfortable bed. Good size room for Paris. Very clean and well appointed. Very friendly and helpful staff. Calm, relaxing and homely. Amazing old building with modern fittings. Good for business too, good wifi connection, computer with printer available. This is the best place to stop in Paris!

We selected this hotel as a "splurge" in Paris. The room was quiet and charming with a view of the interior courtyard. You can't beat the feeling of walking out the front door and immersing yourself in a neighborhood in the center of Paris. So many sights are within an easy walk and the small shops in the area are great fun. The history of the building itself is fascinating!

I really appreciated the assistance of the front desk in making our TGV connections. Very friendly and helpful in all respects. This hotel was a great find and I would be thrilled to stay there again!

I loved staying at this hotel. The location could not be better. Walking distance to most major sites. It is so much fun to walk around the Isle Saint Louis at night. I felt like a local! The staff was warm and welcoming. We had them make several different reservations for us and they did a wonderful job. The rooms are small but designed for optimum comfort. For Paris they are good-sized. What makes this really special is its history. The architects did a lovely job on the remodeling of this property. Truly a special hotel in a special city.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the breakfast room on a higher floor.

Lovely conversion of historical building. Warm welcome and helpful service from efficient staff.

However, with meetings all day in the public rooms it felt like a conference hotel and rooms were rather disappointing. Gloomy as sky blocked by high wall; noise through thin walls. Although broken light in bathroom was quickly fixed when mentioned other little issues like wonky blind and loose toilet door handle were depressing.

Delightful street with interesting shops and variety of restaurants. Great central location.

This is my absolute favorite hotel in Paris, and I always stay here when they have availability. The location is fabulous - right on the Ille. St-Louis, just a stone's throw from Notre Dame. The building itself is just amazing - built in the 17th Century by Louis XIII as a raquet ball court and converted to a hotel in 1987 - with its impressive high beam ceilings, glass elevator, and tastefully decorated with a mix of the old and the new. Our room on the second floor was reasonably spacious by French standards. The bathroom was quite nice with a full tub and shower and marble countertop. Wifi access in the room worked well. The hotel staff were extremely gracious and accommodating. My only negative comment (and this will definitelyly not prevent me from returning) is that the breakfast is a bit pricey (18 Euros) for minimal offerings (a basket of bread/rolls, coffee, and juice). For that price, they should at least include some cheese, yogurt, cereal, and eggs as most other hotels do.

More people were ducking in to see the lobby of our hotel than were staying there, it's that cool, it's that quaint. It's all about location, looks, comfort, staff and, well, Paris. Comfortable beds, quiet, lovely setting. Rue St. Louis is an attraction, to be staying on 'the' street is a step above without the big ticket price. We shall return, again and again.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 207 which is excellent but might prefer rooms 200-205 which do not overlook the di...
