“Perfect Location, Cozy Room”
Reviewed April 21, 2014

From a prior trip I knew I wanted to stay in the 6th Arr. This hotel is close to multiple metro lines (Notre Dame des Champs and Vavin) also only couple blocks from Vavin entrance to Luxembourg Gardens. Likewise there are 2 excellent restaurants on the same block -- Invicta and Le Timbre. Many more restaurants on Montparnasse blvd. The room was comfortable although a bit tight. The hotel also offers a light breakfast and some evening beverages. All employees speak good English and most guests seemed to be Americans, Canadians, or British. I have already recommended the hotel to my friends.

Room Tip: Small boutique hotel. All rooms with different decor. It seems that the two end rooms on each floor...

Dear Guests,

We are pleased to read you enjoyed your stay with us. The 6th arrondissement is a delightful part of Paris, relaxed and safe, away from the very busy, touristy arrondissements of the city. Our location in it is very convenient, as you described: within walking distance of 3 metro stops, steps away from the beautiful Luxembourg Gardens and good restaurants such as Le Timbre (our favourite), Invictus or La Rotonde.
Concerning the hotel, our rooms offer different sizes according to their type (from 14 m2 for a Standard room to 33m² for the Junior Suite) which is not too bad in comparison with Paris’s standards.
Our staff is happy to help in any way they can and is proud to serve a delicious fresh from the morning breakfast, light if you order it à la carte, substantial if you take the full continental one.
We thank you for this review and for recommending us to your friends, it’s a great compliment!
We look forward to welcoming you again!

We stayed here last weekend as a surprise for my 30th birthday. It's a wonderful hotel, in a great location with beautiful rooms. And crucially (and unusually for Paris) super helpful, charming staff. Very much hope to go back soon! We didn't make breakfast but the coffee and croissant they rustled up for us were perfect. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: Go for room 6!

Dear Guest,

Thank you for choosing us for this special occasion!

We’re very happy we met your expectations and delighted you enjoyed our location and decoration. We are proud to offer this ideal location, in a very pleasant Parisian neighborhood, close to 3 metro stops (Notre-Dame-des-Champs, Vavin and Edgar Quinet, respectively line 12, 4 and 6) which allow our guest to travel around easily while staying in a quiet area. As for the hotel, we pay extra attention to every detail to make sure we continuously offer beautiful comfortable rooms to our guests. We’re also very keen on offering the best service we can, we are genuinely happy to welcome our guests in our homey hotel and make sure they have the most delightful stay possible, serving an extra fresh, delicious breakfast being a way for us to help achieve that for example. (We hope you’ll taste it during your next visit with us!).

We wish you again all the best for your birthday (including another trip to Paris in the near future!) and we hope to see you again soon!

Lovely 4-star hotel. Despite the bad cold and rainy weather, the lobby fireplace warm us up as much as the tasty interior decoration and the very helpful and attentive staff. We had a large and comfortable room (as per the Parisian standards), with good quality amneties and we also enjoyed an amazing fresh-good quality-well served breakfast. This boutique hotel is at walking distances from the Paris heart, but also well serviced by the metro lines. Thanks again to the personnel for making our stay so pleasant.

Dear Guests,

We thank you for such a lovely review.
It’s wonderful for us to read that you loved your one night stay with us. We’re thrilled you appreciated the service provided by our staff who always do their very best to make your stay as smooth, easy and enjoyable as they can, offering a room with balcony when possible, reserving taxis, restaurants or serving a delightful fresh breakfast!
All our Superior rooms offer a view of quiet rue Sainte-Beuve but only a very few of them come with a balcony which is why it is not always possible to have one but whenever it is, we’re always happy to offer it.
We are very fortunate in our location, in a very nice, pleasant neighborhood, close to metro lines 4, 12 and 6 and the Luxembourg gardens where a walk is always enjoyable.
We are all delighted to have charmed you and we look forward to having you stay again with us!

My husband and I were lucky enough to visit this lovely hotel at the end of February. We only stayed for the one night but will definitely be heading back as soon as possible. Our superior room was charming, not exactly spacious, but perfect for us, with a lovely little balcony overlooking the Rue Sainte-Beuve. The location was great, convenient for the metro and the Luxembourg Gardens. We had a lovely afternoon tea in the cosy salon and then a delicious breakfast there the following morning. The reception staff were wonderful, ordering us taxis and ensuring our luggage was looked after on the day of our check out.
Fabulous weekend stay! Thank you

Room Tip: Our room, number 6, had a lovely little balcony overlooking the Rue Sainte-Beuve. Very comfortable a...

We had the opportunity to stay here for 7 nights and were not disappointed! We reserved a superior room and were able to get room #6 with a lovely private balcony.

The hotel is well decorated and very comfortable. We took breakfast in our room most days; the continental for 1 was plenty for 2 of us to share. It's a quick walk to 2 metro stations and many bistros, bars, and pastry shops.

The hotel reception staff was ever so gracious to our requests and very helpful with navigating our way to the sights and booking restaurant reservations. We highly recommend staying here!

Dear Guests,

Thank you for your warm recommendation.
We are very fortunate in our location which offer great dining and outing options within walking distance as well as metro stops (of convenient lines 4, 6 and 12) which help make moving in Paris easy and stress free. We’re happy you appreciated our hotel cosy decoration and services. We take pride in serving a substantial delicious fresh breakfast (served with fresh orange juice and fruit salad, morning baked croissant and bread among other things) which you can choose to order daily.
Our staff is also very keen on satisfying our guests’ requests such as recommending and booking restaurants or giving a room with a balcony which is not always possible unfortunately as we do not have many rooms with one.
We all look forward to welcoming you again, hopefully very soon !

My husband and I stayed at the Hotel Sainte Beuve in June 2013. It is a very nice hotel located on a quiet side street in Paris within a 5 minute walk from Luxembourg Gardens. It is near all major rail lines, and the hotel staff are very accommodating. Each day we were met with a smile, and they were more than happy to give up directions, recommend attractions, and make dinner reservations. They were especially helpful when a rail strike happened, and we were stuck in Normandy. The rooms are clean, tidy, and the bathrooms are up-to-date with hot water running the whole day. I would definitely stay there again!

This a very nice hotel is located on quiet sidestreet about 500 meters walk from Luxemburg gardens, close to metro stations(50-150m) and the AirPort train station(5 min walk, when asking we got very clear and good directions from the hotel by E-mail). The rooms are rather small (as usual in Paris) but nicely decorated, the french "balkony" helped to give a more spacy feeling. Bed is good and the hotel is kept very clean. Reception area is very cosy, nicely and homely decorated with a fireplace. Sabrine in the reseption is superb; helpful, nice and always with a warm smile making you feel welcome. Breakfast was stressfree( at least when we stayed in early January and the hotel was only half booked), as you get a nice choice served to the table in the cosy bar area, and do not need to que and run around to pick your breakfast choice yourself.
There are some nice restaurants close to the hotel. 50m on the same street is LeTimbre with a three course meny ( you can choose from the ala carte meny) for very priceworth 32-35€. Food is clearly cooked with passion by the owner and the friendly waiter is very professional what it comes to recommendations of both food and wine. Restaurant is small why you are sitting very close to your neighbours. Another great restaurant in the area (about 1,5km away) is Pique Pigue, more expensive, but great food and service. Parc de Clerf close to the hotel was a disappointment after the great experience we had had in the other two restaurants mentioned. Nothing very wrong, as food was better than in the touristplaces, but not comparable to what you can get in the ambitious places. Service was was OK, but lack of true warmth and interest made it impersonal.

Dear Guests,

It’s a pleasure reading your detailed review of your experience with us!
We’re very happy you were satisfied by the service provided by our staff, as we are genuinely anxious to do our best to make your stay as pleasant as we can, welcoming you, providing information and tips throughout your stay or serving a delicious, fresh breakfast in our cosy salon.
Our hotel offers different room sizes according to the room type and though some might appear small, they are indeed very satisfactory in comparison to Paris’ standards. About our location, we’re enchanted to offer within walking distance three subway stops (line 4, 6 and 12) which allow our guests to move easily in Paris, the Luxembourg gardens and amazing restaurants. We’re very sorry you didn’t like the Parc aux Cerfs which is close to us but thrilled that you enjoyed dining at Le Timbre. This restaurant is quite unique and our absolute favorite : Chris, the chef, cooks beautifully and you enjoy your meal in a very professional but warm and friendly atmosphere. Pouic-Pouic is also a very good option to have a great French cuisine experience.
We look forward to having you stay in our hotel again very soon!
