“Best little hotel in Paris, we will be back!”
Reviewed July 13, 2013

We booked this hotel just from reading a few reviews online, and could not have been any happier. The hotel décor was trendy, yet relaxing, and although the rooms were small, they were still perfect for two people! Everything was very clean, which is the first thing we look for in a good hotel. We booked the hotel far in advance, and immediately received a phone call from their staff confirming our reservation. The staff is very helpful, and can answer any questions about directions, taxis, airports, etc. We cannot wait to stay here again!

Note: We booked a few months in advance and got an amazing deal!

Room Tip: If possible, try and get a room with a balcony. The views are amazing!

Me and my boyfriend stayed at the Grand Hotel SAint-Michel for 3 nights at the end of January and we had a fantastic holiday. There are so many good things about this hotel. Firstly, it is in an ideal location. Since we had never been to Paris I was a bit worried about finding my way around, however the hotel is in a good central location and close to many major metro stations making it easy to get to all main attractions, and RER stations meaning you can get to the hotel directly from CDG airport very easily without any changes. Notre Damn is literally at 2 minute walk away! It is also very close the Pantheon and Luxembourg Gardens. There are numerous resteraunts to choose from in the area, and there are plenty of lovely places to go for drinks. All round it was just a fantastic location to be based in given the size of Paris. The hotel itself was also fantastic. When we arrived the outside still had Christmas lights on, which looked amazing. We arrived 3 hours before check in time, however the receptionist said out room was in fact ready so we got checked in straight away. No only this but they informed us that they had upgraded our room! I originally booked a superior room and we were upgraded to a triple deluxe! The room was lovely and spacious ( although it was meant for 3 people I think) and was very modern. The bed was the comfiest bed I have ever slept in. The bathroom was also amazing, the bath was huge and we never had any problems with hot water or anything. The whole room was also immaculate, so they obviously have a very good house keeping team! The in room safe is also free and was big enough to fit two iPads in. Not much storage places though for clothes, no drawers or anything like that just a very small cupboard were the safe was. The wifi is also free, although the connection wasn't best at time but on the whole worked fine. Who really cares about wifi on holiday that much anyway? Out room overlooked a rather dull and boring courtyard and it would have been nicer to have had a view of the Paris streets of some sort, however we weren't bothered as we didn't go on holiday to a place like Paris to stay in our room that much. Although we never really required the assistance to the staff that much, everyone we came across was always extremely polite and helpful. Always wished us good morning etc. The hotel also provides places to store your bags if you have late flights as well which is always helpful. The hotel can be a bit on the expensive side, however its Paris and the hotel itself is very luxurious and completely worth it. All in all we had a fantastic stay with not a single problem. Although we won't be rushing back to Paris anytime soon I would defiantly recommend this hotel!

Room Tip: If a view is important to you, you might want to email ahead!

Spent two nights here and plan to return. Very quiet hotel just off Blvd. Saint-Michael. Our room and bath were generously sized and recently updated. Bed was exceptionally comfortable. Staff speaks several languages and was very helpful with restaurant suggestions, airport taxi and reservations. Located near the Cluny Museum, Luxembourg Gardens and about six blocks from Ile de Cite' allowed us to walk with ease everywhere we wanted to visit. We've stayed in several hotels in Paris and this is the best value and most comfortable. Recommend this hotel without hesitation. Call ahead for early check-in.

We chose the hotel as we had a commitment in the area. Very convenient location, just 3 RER stops from Gare du Nord. Perfect place for exploring the city.
The hotel itself is pretty cool and modern, large enough room to accomodate 3 of us (1 super king size and one single bed). Quite comfortable beds, separate WC and shower, comes very handy sometimes. Everything provided of rather high standard (bed linen, slippers, dressing gawns, toiletries Hermes, etc).
Breakfast is OK, not over the top.
Our only lower point was that the room was not ready when we arrived at 12.30, so we could not take a shower as we wanted, so the suitcase was left in the luggage room. was not a big deal though.
Happy to recommend.

Dear Guest
We are so pleased to read your lovely feedback. Many thanks for taking the time to do this.
Reserved rooms were not ready on arrival, as stated in our website, check in takes place from 2pm. If your wish to have a shower was formulated, we could give you access to the spa.
We always try our hardest to meet our Guests expectations and it is nice to know you had a wonderful rest in our comfortable beds.
We will be so pleased to welcome you in your next visit.

We stayed at the Grand Hotel Saint Michele for three nights, June 6,7 and 8th, 2013. I fell in love with the hotel, and location immediately. There were five of us traveling together, 4 adults and my nine year old daughter. We had two rooms and although the rooms in Paris are smaller than an American Hotel, we loved our rooms and thought they were top notch!, The Location, Location Location..cannot be beat. Close to so much, Notre Dame, Pantheon, Louvre and so much more. The staff members were always friendly and willing to help. They also spoke with us in English, gave us lots of suggestions, got us a taxi, and stored our luggage for us on our last day after our checkout until it was time to catch our train. I just can't say enough. I would recommend this hotel to everyone. It is charming and I hope I will somehow get the chance to stay at this wonderful Hotel again!!!

Room Tip: Fourth floor rooms and up have the best views

We stayed at this hotel in late May 2013 and it was fantastic! I don't even know where to begin, so I'll just start with what stood out.

The hotel is tucked away on a side street and because of the tucked away location, you have no idea how close you are to some of the major sites. You are within walking distance of Notre Dame. You also are within walking distance of the Sorbonne. There are lots of students in the area so you will hear a lot of languages including English. it was a good neighborhood, pretty quiet and it felt safe. We didn't have any issues whatsoever. There were excellent restaurants in the vicinity, so be sure to check trip advisor before venturing out for dinner:-)

The hotel somewhat modern but you can tell the property was redone. The hallways are old school, but once you get into your room, it is very nice and very nicely appointed. It is a small room (as is typically in Paris and Europe in general) We had a triple room with 1 fold out single bed and 1 double bed. There was a separate water closet (just a toilet) and the bathroom had a tub/shower and sink complete with Hermes toiletries. Very comfortable slippers were included in the stay and the linens/towels were good quality.

We had a cute view of the courtyard facing other rooms/buildings. Keep that in mind when you're in the bathroom;-) Also there is literally a red light in the bathroom above the shower (don't worry, there is a regular light as well), so make of that what you will...

All and all, great stay, good breakfast and they have refreshments every afternoon (cookies/tea/coffee). Nice touch! I would gladly stay here again if I ever got back to Paris. Oh, and yes, they have free in room Wifi:-)

We recently stayed at the Grand Hotel Saint-Michel and it was a perfect hotel for us in our Paris stay. The location could not be better. It is a 2 minute walk from the Luxembourg metro stop.
Also near the Luxemboug Gardens, the Pantheon, Notre Dame, Latin Quarter, Ile Saint Louis etc etc. We could walk to so many locations or just hop on the metro.
The hotel and the location in Paris are very clean. We were so impressed with that.
We also were so impressed with the hotel staff. Christina and the other staff members were so helpful and friendly to us. My iphone got stolen and was recovered by the French police. They went above and beyond helping me call the police station and dealing with the cab getting there.
I was so grateful. I will never forget their thoughtfulness.
Highly recommend this hotel!
