“One Night in Paris...this is the place to do it.”
Reviewed June 3, 2013

Julie Delpy needs two we only needed one to have the time of our lives. La Bastille is a fun edgy area much like the East Village of NYC. The hotel was superb and clean. The staff was very courteous and helpful. The breakfast was the best we had on our entire trip with fresh fruit and great croissants which are out all day by the checkin in case you need one quick always fresh. Coffee could be better but all in all a great one night stay in a great area of Paris with the Jewish Quarter, Victor Hugo's house and very lively/pleasant cafes to drink and people watch outdoors and of course the Jazz at the L'atelier Charbonne which our lovely concierge found for us was the cherry on top. Highly recommended.

Our few days in Paris were made very special by staying at this moderately priced hotel. Conveniently located one block from the #1 line of the Paris metro we were able to travel easily all over Paris. The Bastille area offers a great link to the Marais district and it's history, restaurants and museums. Christina, the receptionist made our trips effortless by supplying us with travel directions, time tables, and helpful hints on how to avoid crowds at famous sights. A lovely breakfast area provided us with a good start each morning at an affordable rate. The hotel rooms were small, but very compact, very clean, and comfortable. A small problem with a leak under the sink prevented us from using the tiled shelf for our toiletries. Our room was in a quiet area but on weekends the noise at night is hard to avoid. We would definitely recommend this hotel to other travelers.

Bonjour!

Thank you very much for your nice post, it is very important for us to get return from our clients.

We try to offer a good value for money.

Bastille district is a parisian area with nice restaurants and many things to do! And you are right Marais district is very closed.

Happy you enjoyed our breakfast!

We will be glad to welcome you again!

Kind regards

Laurence

I picked this hotel because it was within walking distance from the Gare De Lyon, where my sister and I were arrving on the overnight train from Venice, plus I've never stayed in the Bastille/Marais area before. This hotel looked modern and cheerful from the photos and did not disappoint. First of all, the staff could not have been nicer or more helfpul. Even though this was a hotel, the staff were as hospitable as if it were a B&B. Instead of directing us to where to get tea, the receptionist actually made it for us and served us and as we were there on Easter, a chocolate bunny was left in our room. The breakfast was plentiful and included some homemade goodies too.
The rooms were very clean and nicely decorated. Great bath/shower. We faced the front, which could get loud with the traffic. The windows were very good at shutting out the noise, but often we'd need to open them to get some fresh air. The only thing I found wanting was some drawers for clothes, etc. - we used the baskets under the beside tables, but it would have been nice to be able to take more stuff out of our suitcases.
The location was great! We could easily walk to the Marais, Notre Dame, the Latin Quarter. Lots of great shops along the way! We left with many other areas nearby to explore, so I would definitely consider staying here again.

The Bastille area is lovely and bustling and lively at night. The hotel, on Rue de Lyon is large but quite quiet. Even though we had a front facing room on the first floor we were not disturbed by noise.

The receptionists were lovely and helpful, with reception open 24hrs if you have any problems. The gates are locked after 11pm so you have to buzz to be let in, but that made us feel secure.

The bedroom was small, but had everything you would need, and the beds were really comfortable. We had a twin room (no 16) and stayed for three nights, every nights sleep was refreshing and set us up for our packed days of sightseeing.

The bathroom was nice, but tiny, with a sliding door that still allowed you to see inside at some angles! The mini bar was quite expensive, so we popped two mins down the road to the general store for drinks and stored them in the fridge. We also did not try the breakfast as there is a fantastic boulangerie a little further along the road which is open every day except Sunday,

If we were to visit Paris again, we would stay here again as it is within walking distance from most attractions, or a short metro ride away, with the Bastille metro station being at the top of the road.

We were very happy to see that you enjoyed the beauty of our city as well as the comfort of
"Le Pavillon Bastille and most specifically the high quality of our beds.

Our breakfast offers a very large selection of fresh products, including pastries breads from a traditional bakery, so we are srrry that you didn't try it. But it's also lovely to explore the area and discover nice Cafés around our hotel.

Finally, your kind words about our staff members were highly appreciated by each of them.

We sincerely look forward to have you staying with us again.

The Hotel Pavillion in an excellent position right in the centre of Paris next to a metro station and the opera. Breakfasts are yummy but expensive. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the rooms were clean and well kept. Good sized family rooms as well. I found the dècor of the hotel especially lovely and would definitely recommend this hotel to everyone. They also have free wifi perfect for entertaining bored teenagers!

This small (25-room) hotel is ideal for those wanting to go to the Opéra Bastille, being literally just across the road from the Opera House. Located only minutes from the Metro Station Bastille, it also makes an excellent base for other sight-seeing. Our room, with minibar, was larger than some we have had in Paris, and both it and the bathroom were immaculate. Reception staff were friendly and helpful; and a typical buffet-style continental breakfast was available in a brightly-lit arched cellar, which we liked to think previously housed wine. We were sorry that the weather during our stay was not conducive to making use of the lovely little terrace out to the front, but we hope to rectify that on another visit. Recommended eateries nearby include Opéra Café (for pre- and post-performance meals; a few yards up the road); and for really ‘authentic’ French atmosphere Café Divan, 60 rue de La Roquettte (food and drink all day; c. 15 minutes), and Restaurant Chez Paul (13 rue de Charonne; lunch and dinner, c. 10 minutes).
