Boulevard Saint Germain is definitively my favourite in Paris. It is very interesting and sooooo long.It goes from Assemblee Nationale to Institut du Monde Arabe,si it is much longer than Avenue des Champs Elysees, something like Rue de Rivoli.
You can find anything you want there. Some famous pattiseries, chocolateries, many interesting shops, some of the legendary Parisian cafes, and,of course,a lot of churches, museums and monuments.
It is touristy but much more Parisian. We felt real Paris there.I am pretty sorry that Le Flore were too crowded, but we found some other cafe, and enjoyed very much in a sunny beautiful day, watching people walking down this busy boulevard.
This boulevard goes through Saint Germain des Pres and Latin Quarter, and you can¨t ask for more.Go there and enjoy.

Yes it is very touristy and even though I try to stay away from areas like this when I travel I found myself finding the best greek gyro wraps in Paris! I also sat in a corner restuarant ordered a bottle of wine and watched Paris

This was over rated. The shops were nice but I can go to other shops too. The LV store was nice. My sister got soccer jerseys...

Always a favourite. This a "tourist meet citizen" place.. kids on their way to school. Mums and babies. Great shopping, boutiques. cafes and historic venues thrown in. Les Trois Marches de Catherine B on Rue Gusarde for vintage Hermes and Chanel.. NOT knock offs. worth the visit. Great location for everyone.

Boulevard St. Germain is such an evocative name to foreign visitors that it's easy to feel a little let down by the reality. However, it is a wonderful place to take a walk and take in the sights on a late summer day.

Walk toward the Seine and don't forget to stop off for a cafe at some point!

The shopping is not as good as it is in other parts of Paris (certainly not as good as the area around the academy of music (la Madeleine), so if that's what you're looking for, head up that way instead.
