Our stay at this hotel during this weekend has certainly been our most unpleasant experience of all our numerous hotels stays in our lives. It is a shame the quality and customer care of this hotel.

First we have been installed in a room freshly painted; in addition they had just changed the repugnant wallpaper. The smell was insufferable, biting you eyes and between the musty smell that already had the whole hotel along with the smell of paint was impossible to think of anything else. We had to have the window opened in the rain and during all night in December because it was preferable the cold that the nasty smell.

On a couple of occasions we complained about this and they told us that the only thing to do was to have the window opened because it was freshly painted. For them it seems to be very normal to have the window open all the time in the middle of December and during the rain!!!!.

The hotel looks like the house of terror, the room is also very small and cleanliness is deficient. Our bathroom in addition was dirty. The towels were muddy and the beds and pillows very uncomfortable. The service of the hotel is insufferable and arrogant; in addition it seems to be our fault that the smell of the room was nauseating.

The girl at the reception was the least professional person you can imagine. She was in line with this horrible hotel. We asked her for a claim sheet arguing that it is not normal to rent rooms under these circumstances and she refused and she never gave us a correct invoice neither. She was a horrible person in all aspects. Anyway, everything was disgusting.

Please do not go unless you want to live a nightmare experience in this hotel of terror.

After this terrifying and scary-movie like description of a night spent in a freshly painted room in Hotel de Nice, we are wondering WHY these honourable travellers, if the smell was so unsufferable, did not simply ask to change room, and WHY, if it was such a "nightmare experience" these honourable travellers did stay for another night in such "a hotel of terror". WHY??....
Probably because of the incredible charm of "the receptionnist who was a horrible person in all aspects".

Very colorful and cosy hotel, feels a bit like staying at your slightly excentric aunt's. Enjoyed the tiny balcony with the view to a little square and the great location only 5 minutes walking distance to Notre Dame. Bathroom was not cleaned on arrival, but I was too tired to mention - everything else was fine. Good value.

Good location, helpful staff. We were out sightseeing most of the day, so the room was basic but cosy. We had 2 large bay windows overlooking rue du rivoli and the hotel de ville. Plenty of eating options all around, metro 1 block away, and walking distance to many big sights. We would certainly recommend it to people who need a decent place to stay without spending too much, and who don't mind quaint French style decor, instead of polished 21st century modern hotels.

Room Tip: Room 17 is a corner room with a balcony.

This is Paris, the land where customer service is just expecting too much.

I found the staff friendly and flexible, but expecting them to provide information or preform services is just asking too much for this category of hotel.

I highly recommend this spot for low-maintenance travellers who know Paris like they back of their hand and are looking for a super cheap hotel. The rooms were clean, the maid service prompt.

On the downside: the phones are ridiculously expensive (local calls are not free), the towels were like sandpaper and the shampoo/showe gel/soap barely adequate.

Upside: You're smack in the middle of Paris, next to the two busiest metro lines and near great restaurants and cafes. The rooms were small, but I've seen smaller for more money. My bed was quite comfortable and the hotel quiet even though I was on the rue de Rivoli.

Also, they're dog friendly.

Happy about the hotel for the price. The decor is a bit like your staying at your grandma's house. The guy working in reception was extremely unhelpfull though. He's respons to questions was just a blank stare and no response. I won't be staying here again just on how awefull the service was.

Location is the real star for this property. Rooms are adequate , with very dramatic wallpaper and considering its location on main road, the sound proofing allows for a a very peaceful sleep. The bathroom in our double room was very cramped and common to many European hotels. All areas where well maintained and clean and although there is a lift , it needs "authority" from first floor reception to actually operate from the ground upwards. It really is only minutes to Notre Dame, a few more minutes to the Louvre and seconds from a multitude of restaurants, bars and cafes. We stayed for 5 nights and felt we would happily return again.

Room Tip: Room with balcony overlooking rue Rivoli on second floor.

just returned from Paris after spending a night a this hotel. the staff could not have been nicer, provided wine glasses, a snack, arranged air port transportation. what ever we requested was provived. the facility is well located for walking around. many restaurants near by.
the facility is clean and one gets about what they pay for. it is an economic hotel in a good location. across from a park with large windows opening on to the park. the decorations are different. sort of shabby shiek as other Paris hotels, the rooms are small yet adequate. liked the in room free internet. found it a good place to stay if one wishes to hold down the cost and be in a convenient location.

Room Tip: a front room on an upper floor. we had no. 11 which was fine
