France's tallest skyscraper. It's not nice! But! Europe's fastest lift to take you up. 40 seconds on 56 floors. Pay. the 59 downstairs is a nice view! The only reason why you should come here!

It's one of the best views you can get in Paris. The price is 13e for a full ticket and it's well worth it. You get a 360o panorama of Paris. Again, try to do this during / after sunset for an even more spectacular view. There is also a small restaurant up there, don't expect anything fancy, but you can get a decent meal for 15e+ and a beer at 200m above Paris comes at a decent 5e.

Briefly ...you are zoomed up 56 stories so quickly you do not feel it at all. The staff there do an excellent job in managing the tourist traffic. Once you reach there you have a view of all Paris. Care to go higher? There is one more level and that is up the stairs outside on the roof. Although windy, it is very safe. You just cannot get a better view anywhere.

After finding Eiffel closed due to their strike Montparnasse more than made up for the disappointment. Hardly any queue, and the views were incredible. Well worth it!!

It is worth it to see Paris from the top of Mountparnasse. You buy tickets on the right side of the building on the bottom floor.
Taking an elevator to the top of this 52 story building was a great way to get acquainted with Paris. The elevator is very fast, and it is not terribly expensive to buy tickets (13 Euros). When you arrive at the top, they take your picture and superimpose it on a Paris background. However, they do not pressure you to buy the print.
There are 2 observation levels. There is an inside level which has signs so that you can find the famous Paris landmarks. You can walk up a flight of stairs to the very top of the skyscraper for an outside view. It is not as scarey as it seems. The area is surrounded by glass, which is comforting for a person like me who really isn't comfortable with heights.
It was our first time in Paris, and it was amazing to see the landmarks.
It is probably especially neat to see the lights at night from the tower.
If you are in the Mountparnasse neighborhood, you can't miss the tower. It is a big blackish skyscraper. As an aside, every Parisian we met hates the tower. :)
