Some might describe this place as "small" but I found it a huge place with lots of visitors. The fountain in the middle of the garden would be a great place to rest and people-watch if it was not windy. The ground was sandy so that would not be ideal either.

Despite all these, it is still a great walk between the Louvre and the Orangery. Don't miss this place!

Small and magnificent formal garden with fountains and statues. It may not be the best park in Paris but it is very centrally location and worth seeing. It was sweltering hot when we visited it during a summer afternoon this July but there were many chairs and shady spots for brief respites from the sun. It might be better to visit the nearby Lourve during the afternoon and then walk the gardens at night which is cooler. As we visited the gardens at night on Bastille Day 14th July, we were rewarded by the fireworks and the Eiffel Tower night display.

Unfortunately, this magnificent garden during summer afternoon is marred by the street vendors selling fake mini Eiffel Towers and other junk. Despite this issue, we would still recommend at least a visit to the Jardin des Tuileries.

Visited in July 2013.

We have seen the garden from the view of our double decker bus, from the Ferris wheel and from the ground while strolling through. Like a super model, Jardin des Tuileries has no bad side.

The topic does not seem to match with my rating, but what I mean is other than that you might want to mind your pockets in the Tuileries, the rest is just perfect. Standing at the fountain of the garden you are surrounded by the Louvre, (unfortunately the notorious Tour Montparnasse), Orsay, Orangerie, Arc de Triomphe, Concorde, Jeu de Paume... It is another core of Paris beside the Ile.

The Marais is a lovely old area in which to meander around. Lovely shops and patisseries etc. Recommended!
