Myself and my wife stayed here for 3 nights. Loved it. Its a charming little Hotel in what appeared to me to be a residential neighborhood. Easy access to the train, some nice restaurants nearby. The hotel staff were great. First night we were given a nice summary of how to get around Paris. The only drawback I had was a minor thing really, but I could not get reliable internet access from my room. Its possible that it had to do with the location of my room, because I could logon from the stairs. Anyhow a wonderful stay and would come back again if back in Paris.

Dear Guests,

It is nice to read that you had a nice stay at the New Orient;

It is true that we have sometimes disturbances with our internet access due to the increasing number of connections and heavy downloads of skype and films. This problem should be resolved with a new installation in the next weeks.

Thanking you for your kind participation and wishing you al the best,

Kindest rgards

The hotel staff, especially all three people at reception who we dealt with at our four days here were so welcoming, helpful and friendly. The rooms are compact but very clean with very comfortable mattresses. Conveniently near Saint Lazare Gare (station) with a handy little supermarket across the road (which was great because there was no fridge in our room). I recommend the place as we were made to feel at home here. Thanks to all the staff there!

My husband finished our trip to France with a 2 day stay in Paris. We searched for hotels for quite a long time. The New Orient kept coming up. We are so happy we chose this hotel for our whirlwind tour of Paris.
The hotel was close to great local restaurants, pastry shops and bars. We loved it!

Had read the fantastic reviews on Tripadvisor and reality even exceeded our expectations! The staff are so lovely and helpful - the best I have come across. Great dinner recommendations and so helpful with all of our queries. We had room 18 on the fourth floor with a bath/shower and balcony. It was great - small by Australian standards but a good size for Paris. The layout of both the room and bathroom was very functional. Bed comfy, lighting great, wonderful water pressure and hot water (SO hard to find in hotels) and there was a newish TV (although we didn't use it). Room was immacuately cleaned each day. Breakfast was delightful and the pastries and bread so nice that we ended up having breakfast at the hotel every day during our stay. Location was also SUPERB - directly across the road from a supermarket and laundromat and about 300metres walk to two metro stations (one in each direction). Great japanese and thai restaurants about four shops down too - can recommend both of those places as well. All in all I can't say enough good things about the hotel orient. If I had to pick a criticism it would be that some larger people may find it difficult to navigate the very tight stairwell or elevator (which only fits two normal size people).

My partner and I stayed here for 3 nights and were happy with our stay. We chose to stay in a room that had a balcony overlooking the street and it really was lovely. The room was tiny however it’s Paris so you can expect that everywhere! The location wasn’t the best… there was really very many restaurants or cafes around but we did stay over some public holidays so maybe that is why the street was so quiet. It was about a 15 min walk to the Moulin Rouge though so that was great! nthe decor was lovely and romantic.

We were a bit annoyed though that the shining light for the hotel was right outside of our window so it was a bit difficult to get to sleep as it wasnt fully dark in the room. The sign was on all night.

The hotel was a 2 min walk to the underground which was also helpful. The staff were friendly and overall we had a good stay there and I would stay again.

I stayed for only one night at this hotel, but it was enough for me to like it very much.
All I ask from a hotel is a confortable bed and a warm shower. And you get this here. The only problem could be its localization, but once there, I couldn't say that bothered me. Its a walking distance from the opera, and near to 2 important metro stations, so anyone can get around.

I found it very clean and conforting. Ok, small rooms, but small in a way that made me feel good. Nice knowing this hotel and I would certainlly go back!

My wife and I stayed here for 5 nights. We found the hotel to be in a great location with restaurants within walking distance and the Metro just a few blocks away. When we arrived, Catherine greeted us warmly and even arranged to have someone bring our bags to our room. We were in Rm 8 which was on the third floor (second floor in U.S.). The elevator is small and does not go to the ground (first) floor. Even though it was small, we thought this added to the charm of the hotel. The stairs are also a little difficult because they are winding. Our bags were left outside our room door very promptly and whoever did it did not wait around for a tip. Catherine was always very helpfull with suggestions for dinner and also made reservations for us (Micheline was on duty later in the week and did the same for us). We had a double room with balcony and bath. The room was comfortable but a little small. This wasn't a surprise to us since we were in Paris. The bathtub had a shower and shower curtain so for a shower it was a very nice size. There was a hair dryer in the bathroom but it was not very powerful. When we arrived, there was a light out in the bathroom and mangement fixed it promptly. Breakfasts were good with cereal, fruit, tea or coffee, pastries and meat and cheese. While the cost of the breakfast may have been a little high, you were paying for the ability to have breakfast at the hotel. All the staff was friendly and helpful.
The hotel website gives directions on walking from Gare St Lazare but I would recommend taking the Metro line to the Europe stop which saves you several blocks. When you come up the stairs out of the Metro at Europe, make a U turn and head to the corner. The street you come to is Rue de Rome. Turn right at Rue de Rome and walk one block. The next intersection is Rue de Constantinople. Turn left on Rue de Constantinople. The hotel will be on your right in a couple of blocks.
