We stayed in the Latin Quarter just a few blocks walking in almost any direction of Saint-Germaine-des-Pres which is located around the abbey of Saint-Germaine-des-Pres. In this area you will find people from all over the world. Locals outfitted in the latest fashions going to work or just taking a stroll. Walk along the streets of Boulevard St-Germaine, Rue de Seine, Rued Rennes or Rue Bonaparte. Window shop, stop in a Boulanger for a Coffee Latte and pastry, later eat in one of the outstanding restaurants in the area. Visit the many museums and gardens. We stayed here for two weeks and did not see it enough so in 2013 we will be back to enjoy this wonderful area again and again. This is a place to see and to be seen.

I like St Germain area. It's full of shops, restaurants and bars. There's also a metro and many tourists live here because it's safe.

Meandering around the streets here is great fun - even on a Sunday when we were here when many shops are shut. It was a bustling place with street musicians and cafes galore. Tres chic!

I particularly enjoyed taking side - streets off of the main drag. There are some wonderful bookstores, and restaurants, but the magic for me was 'getting lost' on rue du dragon, bonaparte, rue de rennes (with apologies to any french people who may be reading this and notice my spelling errors). There must be hundreds of shoe stores in this area. Clearly an attraction for international travelers.

We stayed in this area and it was a never ending window shopping experience between the clothes and the patiserees. So convenient to everything including three metro stops.
