Owner description: One of Paris's smallest, yet most charming, public squares.

This is a quiet square, with a beautiful lampost in the center, flanked by charming old Parisian shops on the sides. You feel like you have gone back in time to 19th century Paris when you stand under the shady trees in this square. I expected to see Eugene Delacroix, the painter rushing out of his studio, which is on one side of this square with his easel under his arm and his paint box in his other going out to paint. Definately, stop by this square.

I love this charming small "place" in Paris. Very quite and calm. It was made fmous, I guess, by Scorcese's movie "The Age of Innocence". We noticed a young girl being photographed "street style". My daughter who lives in Paris tells me young models-to be seek that kind of publicity. It seems the tradition was started by Bill Cunningham in NYC and has many followers everywhere like the Sartorialist. Anyway, Paris is full of beautiful people, even mature ladies and gentlemen.

Don't trust de trip adviser map if you wanna go to Place Fustenberg. He sends you to wrong site. just look for Lacroix museum, and you will get there.

Place de Furstenberg is actually a street but this famous little place is in the heart of St-Germain des Pres left bank . The are four pawlonias in the square, which create a romantic feel, which is heightened at night by the street light with five globes. Delacroix decided to live here and in fact in the late seventeenth century, this area formed the forecourt to the abbatial palace. It is named after the Prince of Furstenberg, a descendant of Madame de Beauharnais and adopted daughter of the Emperor Napoleon. A parisian told me if someone takes you there you know it is a sign of love.

Having lived in Paris on the Boulevard Saint Germain des Pres, I would go frequently by the Place Furstenberg.
A uniquely elegant surprise sums up the feel when going through this Place.
It is a serene location in the middle the intensely vibrant quartier of Saint Germain des Pres.
It has the famous "je ne sais quoi" feel to it which makes it a must see in Paris.
