I love wandering around the Left Bank and this narrow street has every conceivable type of artisan food you could want. With a bit of luck there might be a music combo playing in the street opposite the Cafe Tournbride. A good place to stop for some refreshment or a light lunch in that case.

As said before a lovely street with shops but not a flea market with stalls in the street as I'd hoped.

This was not in our main itinerary during our Paris visit, however after we went there for the first time , we kept revisiting the place each day during the remaining days of our Paris visit.
Situated behind the Pantheon, this narrow street is ideal for a leisurely stroll as you check out the boutiques, cafes, restaurants, colourful ice cream shops, crepe shops, cheese shops along the way.
The place has a very non-touristy feel. It almost feels that you are walking, shopping and eating with the locals. The price for prix fixe menus at the cafes on Rue Mouffetard was less as compared to those in cafes near the Pantheon or the Sorbonne. Its quite a steal considering that this place is just 5-10 minutes of a pleasant walk away from the Pantheon or Sorbonne.
We used to keep going back to this place for lunch every day.

A lovely street which was a great traditional neighbourhood but of course realised its potential a long time ago, resulting in the trendification of its bars and the market produce going upmarket. Nice cafes to people watch and the lovely St Medard church at the foot well worth a visit while you're there.
