There's a good variety of fruit, pastry, seafood, wine stalls. The street has it's own charm and you can easily take up 1-2 hours browsing at food. Enjoyed the stroll here thoroughly.

We went pretty late... We therefore could not experience the place for its full value and worth.. Despite that, its a joy to visit and shop... The fruits are fresh and the shopkeepers are friendly...

My wife and I try not to miss Rue Mouffetard whenever we are fortunate enough to get to Paris.
We love to stroll the long street with all the incredible vendors, selling produce and seafood and wine. There are plenty of Restaurants to choose from and the street is also interesting just to people watch. If in Paris Don't Miss It.

Absolutely charming market street. When we arrived, there was a jazz band playing and the road was bustling but not too busy. The food was excellent - particularly the cheese and chocolate.

I led many tours to Paris before I discovered this delightful old street. I think one is wise to start at the "far end" with the Church of St. Medard which deserves a brief visit -- and then a slow amble up the cobblestones, browsing as you go . . . so many shops, cafés, so reminiscent of the pedestrian walkways before the automobile. Near the top of the street you have choices waiting: the beautiful Renaissance church of St. Genevieve (never to be missed), the giant Pantheon, or just beyond that the Luxembourg Gardens. (Of course, if you turn north (right) and walk a few blocks down the hill you will find yourself in the Latin Quarter, filled with the same 19th Century ambience as the Rue Mouffetard.
