“Beautiful”
Reviewed June 29, 2012

We visited in the late afternoon and watched the sun set over Paris, from this high vantage point. The church is beautiful and well worth a visit, and there are lovely gardens, with lots of places to sit. There were a lot of people about but everyone was just doing their own thing and enjoying themselves.

“A must see in Paris”
Reviewed July 7, 2009

Take a trip to St-Pierre de Montmarte, spend some time at the church with a view of all of Paris. Then walk around the corner and have a portrait done by one of the artists (best you will ever look in your life) finish off with a wonderful meal in one of the many cafes. This is an experience you won't forget and you will always have the portrait to reflect upon. Prices of portraits or caricatures vary from 20 Euros to 80 Euros.

“Cute little place”
Reviewed July 9, 2004

Montmarte is a charming little place on the edge of Paris. It was in this little area that the French film Amelie was made. I went and viewed The Two Windmills, and it was neat to see how it was so different in the movie. I went to the Church there, but had trouble finding a place to change into pants, because shorts are not allowed. Anywhere I went I had to pay before using the restroom (louve) and all I had was VISA- no one takes VISA there. That was impossible. Also, no one speaks English, or wants to make an attempt to understand you. However, the scenery is very nice. The Church had amazing stained glass- and is very peaceful whether you are religious or not. I didn't have to pay anything to enter. The view from the top of Montmarte, where the church is, is astounding. Great place whether by yourself or with a group. I wouldn't recommend it for kids, as there are lots of stairs and hills. Great adventure.
