“Domingo Rooms - Superb!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 13, 2012

We apparently stayed at Domingo Rooms Marais right before the people who did the 'poor' review. I totally disagree with that review but people are entitled to their own opinions. Is this a luxury apartment? No, but then, what do you want for less than 100 euros in the center of Paris? The apartment is small but comfortable and clean and conveniently located in a vibrant and 'real' section of Paris. It is ideal for 2 people. It has a small kitchen wall and a tiny bathroom but who cares about the size of the rooms? Who is going to spend 24/7 in the apartment and cook 3 meals a day when you are in PARIS!?! It is so great to look over the skyline at the other homes in the area and to wake up to the church bells of Notre Dame (at least that is what we liked to imagine we were hearing, and since ND is only about 10 minutes away on foot, maybe we were right)! Domingo graciously supplies some basic breakfast items and greeted us at the time we designated. (Between noon and 1, which we thought was generous, considering most hotels won't let you check in until 3 or 4 pm.) In fact, while we were out looking around the area for about 1/2 hour as Domingo hadn't quite finished tidying up after the previous tenants, he popped out for additional breakfast supplies for us. Domingo also gave us some great tips on places to eat and how to find the best bakeries and markets for other items we might need. The promised wifi worked great (since I unfortunately had a working vacation) and everything else was as promised on the website. Would I stay here again? You bet! Would I recommend it to others who want to feel like they really live in Paris for a short time? Again, you bet! As they say in real estate "Location, location, location" and this place has location and a gracious host, too.

Room Tip: The Marais apartment is conveniently located in a really cool part of Paris with many restaurants an...

Domingo was amazing for lack of better words. He was warm, welcoming and just overall so helpfully to this LA guy. His best advice was "Go sit at a Café and watch the world go by" and so I did, everyday! I would recommend his place to anyone in search of a home feel type place or for first time Paris visitors like myself. Here is a tip: leave him a plant after your stay, he is growing a little garden ;)

We just returned from two nights in the Marais with Domingo. We stayed in a large, airy room with a gorgeous, plant-covered balcony on the Rue Beaubourg and had a fabulous time! The room was light, clean, and comfortable, with an attached shower and sink - the toilet was shared. Domingo was very helpful and welcoming, and the apartment is ideally situated in the heart of the Marais.

My wife and I stayed here on short notice after another B and B flaked on us. Domingo was a gracious host and have us complete access to his flat. There are 3 rooms, so it felt like having roommates. The place is centrally located, easy walk to the Louvre and it's Practially next door to the George Pompidou center. It's also a pleasant bus ride to the Eiffel Tower and there's a Metro station on the same block.

My husband and I stayed at Domingo Beauborg room for 6 nights in May. Our room was large and comfortable with a shower and bathtub adjoining. The toilet is located in a small hallway and is shared by others in the apartment. There is a large lounge area to relax in also. There are wide doors which open and allow fresh air into the rooms which is very nice. Domingo is a great help in advice on areas in Paris. The location of the apartment is top notch, walking distance to River Seine and Notre Dame (about 10 mins). There is a funny little lift which only fits either 2 people or 1 person and 1 suitcase. Domingo is very friendly, welcoming and a laid back kind of guy. We didn't get a decent breakfast there, because a part for his bread maker was missing. We had orange juice and yoghurt. Was craving some carbs one morning, and Domingo kindly went out and got a baguette for us. Domingo gave us the use of his washing machine and dryer also, which was a great help to us. Thanks for a great stay Domingo. Hope you find your bread maker attachment. :)

Room Tip: Try to get the larger bedroom if possible.

I notified Domingo on a short notice towards my date of travel and he kindly offered me the stay with 2 nights at his St Croix apartment and the other 2 nights at the Beaubourg room. Both locations are very accessible to public transport, good restaurants, bars, shopping street... you name it!

The St Croix apartment had a kitchenette and toilette while the room in Beaubourg was bigger, and of course, they were clean. If you have a choice, I would advise you to get the room at Beaubourg though, cause breakfast will be prepared by Domingo himself only at Beaubourg, but still he ensures the supply of breakfast at the St Croix apartment in the form of cereals, fruits cakes and stuff. I did not get to try his home-made bread thanks to some of his previous occupants who threw away his bread-making machinery, so nothing to rave about here. He did try to make it up in the form of cupcakes, which sad to say, did not really make the mark =/

The host, Domingo, was really warm and hospitable throughout our entire stay. Ask him anything you wanna know about Paris and he'll tell you about it, in good english =)

We stayed 3 nights and found Domingo to be a great help in knowing restaurants and things to do in the Marais. He's very welcoming and staying there is kind of like crashing with a friend or friend of a friend. The apartment is typical Central Paris, small but very convenient considering it's just over the metro station. One important plus: very hot water for the shower. One of the best patisseries in the city is around the corner, as are numerous restaurants. It was pretty easy to take the metro to anywhere as you can change to the #1 in a couple of stops. From that standpoint it's one of the best located places we've stayed in the city.
