“Spiritual Vibe”

This place has a great view of the city and it is free to walk through the church. I found the look of the interior and the sermon that was going on to be very spiritual so I sat and listened for a bit. It was in French so I didn't understand much but it was still peacful and a nice reflective moment. I bought a small candel for 2 E and lit if for my family and friends. When you are done there the nearby food and art is also a fun time.

“Taking pictures is allowed but show respect!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 22, 2013

This Basilica is in the heart of Montmartre. From there, you can see Paris from above. It's awesome, especially at dusk. You can take pictures inside the temple, but do not use the flash.
I took the metro and got off at Abbesses station. It's just a short walk and you'll enjoy mixing with the locals and the tourists as well. There are thousands of things to see. Montmartre itself is an attraction, with its streets full of artists (musicians, painters, and so on)

Regarding the church, all that i can say that is only second to Notre-Dame. Please take a look at my pictures, attached to this review.

“Great church, great view, pity about the harassment”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 22, 2013

The church is stunning inside and out, and you're rewarded with some great views of Paris. We stayed in the area so got the benefit of talking a nice walk up the hill and past the little cafes etc.

Having said that, there was no lack of Africans harassing tourist on the stairs outside the church trying to sell them beer and water, and their stupid planes and souvenirs. I didn't notice any police presence when I was there, and you can tell!

“Beautiful building, disappointing surroundings”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 20, 2013

A healthy walk or take the funicular railway with your Metro ticket, for a short walk to the basilica. The Sacre-Coeur is lovely, the crowds don't detract from ones enjoyment of the stained glass and architecture and it was surprisingly quiet inside for those who want to sit and pray.

The area is quite tatty with vendors trying to sell their wares and there was a distinct smell of urine, from the church down to Pigalle.

“Heavenly view from the top”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 19, 2013

Basically one other very old cathedral in Paris. It's situated on a high hill, if you have the carte Navigo for the transportation in Paris, you can take the elevator to the top. Very crowded on weekends, especially Sundays.
