“Great View of the City”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 10, 2013

Not to mention a beautiful and very old church. They could do without the "beggar women" sitting in the entrance way. I suggest one walk up and down if staying in Montmartre stopping at various points along the way.

“One of the best sights of Paris”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 9, 2013

Excellent view from here, and the monument is splendid. If you're up for it, walk up there by foot white appreciating the views of the outskirts of montmartre. And once you hit the top, you will realize it's well worth the effort.

“If you like churches, this one's pretty spectacular”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 8, 2013 via mobile

We missed the stairs leading up to the entrance somehow, but you can get amazing views from them on the way down. The church is a church inside, I've seen a few of them, and this is one of the better ones.. Not sure how else to describe it, there's a nice park out the front of the cathedral, you can bring lunch. Really nice place.

“What have they done”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 4, 2013

My partner and I have been here over the years around 4 times
but will never go back ever again, it's awful cant beleave what's been aloud to happen around this once wonderful church from the German Xmas markets ( if it had been biblical times I'm sure God would have knocked the tables over) on sacred grounds,The pickpockets ,the beggers ,the cheap tack they are selling and it just gets worse as you enter the church it's self .
From the night club boncers on the door(yes you heard right) who
Are rude and unhelpful very bad attitude in a house of God and it just get worse vending Machines selling holy medals and holy candles sold at 12euros each (what a rip off) I could go on but this
Is a holy place and it is a discrace and the person/persons in charge should hang there heads in shame .....I find it awfully sad.

“Worth visiting even after a tough walk up the hill”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 4, 2013

We must have taken the long route. We got off the train and then boom a long hill to walk up. Well it was worth the climb, Sacre-Coeur is so beautiful on the outside already. And the view inside is even more spectacular. Free entry but be respectful of what's happening inside. No photography allowed here and I do hope tourists will honour that. We saw a lot of tourists ignoring signs and still snapping away. Please don't be like them. The stained glass windows and ceilings are gorgeous. Really do take a moment to look at all the details. Seeing the tombs may seem creepy but something about this place is magical. The crypt underground requires an entrance fee. We didn't visit this time, but will do so next time. Beware of the gypsies and crowds right outside on the main stairs, selling you little toys, bracelets and handbags. Just when you don't notice them (especially when you are busy taking photos), they'll try to place something on your shoulders/in your arms and claim that now you have bought them, and that you need to pay up. Don't be intimidated and just walk to where you need to go to.
