The Sacre Coeur Basilica is a beautiful church that sits atop the highest point of Paris. The basilica is an impressive sight and is worth the walk up the hill to reach it.

This is one of the best views in Paris! It's all uphill on very old and uneven cobblestones. Take the trolley, or catch the little trains at the bottom of the hill (near Moulin Rouge). (Take a taxi back, because once you leave the immediate area, it's a long hike before you see another taxi!) The art lover in me could have spent several days in this area. Art is everywhere. (It is overcrowded with tourist shops) Still well worth a visit. Food, artists, on street entertainment. It was a great relaxing afternoon!

It is amazing the view and the church. The neighbourhood looks messy and a bit weird for foreigners, but i did not have any problems. Just avoid the beggars and the people trying to sell you merchandise on the streets, they are not friendly and looks as if they will rob u any time. Apart from this, cannot miss it. There is a cable to bring you upstairs in the left side of the hill that takes u to the church. You pay 3 pounds and avoid all stairs

We walked up from the Moulin Rouge, which is much better than taking the funicular. It was a bright sunny day so the perfect backdrop for the white church. We hardly queued at all and when we got in there was a service going on

My favorite view of the city! Perched atop Montmartre (Martyr's Hill) is affords a large panorama of the city.

The church is beautiful from the outside and you get many spectacular photo ops as you walk around it.

I've been inside the church on previous visits which is pretty typical in my opinion but then I tend to like the stained glass and not much else.

Be prepared for huge crowds and the inevitable beggars, musicians, sale people and pickpockets but that being said, this is part of the appeal of this area in general.

Be sure to explore the surrounding area where there are numerous fabric shops, discount everything stores and street artists galore.

If it isn't crowded, they will make a deal on the price of the funicular (outdoor elevator) that takes you up and down the hill. Just start to walk away when approached by the attendant!
