Near to notre dame is saints-Chappell. It is stunning. The stained glass is wonderful as are the statues and vaulted ceilings in deep blue and gold. I loved it

Not as crowded as Notre Dame. About 10 minute walk from there. It had a good crowd, but it was quiet indeed. So bright compared to Notre Dame

When in Paris, I visit Sainte -Chapelle, my favorite church, not to worship but to ponder man's ability to envision beauty. The outside does not reflect the glow of the stained glass surround inside.
There often are long lines, so I suggest acquiring tickets to one of their many concerts. Tonight, once again, it was Vivaldi's "Four Seasons", played with gusto and expertise.

Unfortunately, it is a Gothic cathedral, and, while magnificent, central heating is/was not an option, and tonight was particularly chilling. I brought a scarf and wrapped it around my head. If you go, even in spring, wear boots, heavy socks, etc. Believe me, it is worth it!

The church was damaged during the French Revolution, but managed to retain a lot of the stained glass. They are renovating some of the inside, but even with that distraction, I highly recommend this stop on your Paris must see list.

This small church is definitely a highlight of our time in Paris. The stain glass windows are incredible- and worth the wait in line. If you have a museum pass for Paris - you might have to wait to get your bags checked - but then you can bypass the line inside the gates to get inside the church faster. The museum pass is worth every penny if you are planning on visiting many museums while in Paris. Check it out online to see what's included. Small church - so your time inside will be short. A definitely must see.

Saint Chapelle is quite hidden away and overlooked due to being so close to Notre Dame - but I say if you do have the time you should do it. They are currently fixing some of the windows which doesn't ruin anything but does spoil the effect a little bit! It's always busy but you don't spend very much time in there really - so I would say try and go earlier in the morning or later in the afternoon to avoid a long queue. As with a lot of other places if you are a EU citizen aged between 18-25 you can go in for free - personally I wouldn't have paid the 13 euro (I think!) to go somewhere for ten minutes.

Having said that, the stained glass windows are stunning, and when you walk in it is most definitely a 'wow' moment. If you have the time and extra cash you should go!
