This wonderful church was built to house relics very sacred to the medieval French kings and is remarkable. Thank goodness it survived the occupation of Paris!

Every time I go to Paris I go back to the Sainte-Chapelle. It's not as well-kept a secret as it used to be, though the entrance through the Police prefecture makes it a bit of a trek to get through. The stained glass windows are incredible, as are the painted walls; however, I was disappointed this time around that a large section of one wall is covered in scaffolding for window restoration. Unlike many restoration projects, where the scaffolding is just on the outside, this scaffolding is also on the inside of the chapel, contracting the already small space and limited the amount of light that streams in through the windows. It's worth it, of course; the restored windows are absolutely stunning. It's still not to be missed, but if you haven't seen it before, make sure to come back in a few years when the restoration is complete!

The most impressive deep colors of the stained glass windows is stunning. There is no other place in the world like it. In the next three or four years the renovation of the windows will be complete and then you will experience a sanctuary that the king's were in awe of 665 year ago.

Great light and windows. A true gem of a place. It was not crowded when I was there. The price was OK. If you are in Paris for a visit...this is a must see.

The stained glass is astounding. A trip to Sainte Chapelle won't take long... if you are going to Notre Dame then be sure to walk over for an hour or two visit.
