“Tight security”
Reviewed November 17, 2012

Many years ago when I studied art history in college, I should have visited Ste. Chappelle. The historical details of the extensive stained glass are now lost in the cobwebs of my brain, but it was still beautiful to see. Unfortunately you have to go through TSA level security, which takes some time. It's also tight quarters inside, and our guide had been the victim of a pickpocket on a recent tour, so watch your wallet (as always).

“For exuberant high Gothic, hard to beat”
Reviewed November 16, 2012

The stained glass is truly amazing - made me wish I had brought binoculars to get a better up-close look at it. Be aware that they are renovating part of the interior. About 1/4 of the upper chapel was out of sight behind canvas when we were there. An interesting video explained the process they are following.

“The stain glass was incredible!”

Since its telling a story, take the time to read about the stain glass before you go in so you can understand how to view all the windows.

“Bible story in 1,013 windows”
Reviewed November 15, 2012

Amazing to see so much stained glass in one place, all telling a story from the Bible. It's a building that the walls are only to keep the windows from falling out. Fantastic views.
