Visiting Sainte-Chapelle is like entering heaven encased in a jewel box of stained glass. Arching panels upon panels of glass describe the story of the Bible, from Genesis to Revelation, in rich colors and sumptuous detail. The sheer height of glass gives one the impression of looking up into eternity. The cathedral is right across from Notre Dame, so you might as well come see this also-the super long line is worth the wait.

This smaller chapel is absolutely exquisite. You must see the upstairs as well. Listening to a live chamber music concert there, is an unforgettable experience.

The restorations have made these windows shine. Best seen on a Wednesday evening in summer, when the light shining through the windows makes them spectacular.

This is some of the best, and most interesting stained glass work in all of Paris. The 15 windows that light the central portion of the church tell the story of the bible and the history of the holy relics that the church was built to house.

This is covered by the Paris Museum pass and takes about an hour to enjoy.

We actually went to see Notre Dame, but hit this first and we were pleasantly surprised. It was quite beautiful and a nice contrast to Notre Dame.
