third time there, but first for lunch. I appreciated the large choice in the menu, very creative with use of tasty ingredients. I recommend the mille feuilles de parmesan as a starter a,d the fondant chocolat marron as a dessert ( to die for).

My partner and I came across the Hutieme Arrt Brasserie as we were walking on Boulevard Hausemann from the Opera Garnier to the Musee Jacquemart Andre. We were in Paris for our 20th anniversary and had decided that we would try (not always successful!) not to go to all of our old haunts, but to try some new places and foods to add to our favorites. We were headed to lunch at the Jacquemart Andre tea room, as we love its dining room and outdoor seating, however were hoping to find a place for a heartier meal as it was about 2:30 PM and we hadn’t eaten since breakfast. After passing a number of nice, but not very interesting restaurants, we stopped to look at the menu at the Huitieme Arrt Brasserie. The menu looked great, upscale brasserie fare, and we were able to get a table right away as it was fairly late in the lunch hour.
It was a dreary gray day and the lovely hostess seated us at a corner table in the glass enclosed sidewalk seating area. We had a great view of the locals heading back to the office from lunch; as well as two city workers with brooms cleaning up individual leaves as they fell from the trees. It was quite a contrast from our native New York City and one of the reasons we love Paris so much – the attention to the quality of life. The restaurant was lovely inside, upscale, comfortable, with a warm contemporary look. We had a very attentive waitress who brought the wine list and menus. The wine list had a really great assortment of wines, however we stuck with sparkling water to quench our thirst (I know we should have been having a nice wine with lunch, but it puts us to sleep, we are light weights!). The menu had a number of interesting dishes and made use of fresh local ingredients. I ordered a mozzarella and tomato tart for an appetizer and veal picatta and parmesan reggiano risotto as a main course, my partner had sesame chicken breast with sautéed vegetables as a main course. Everything was very well prepared, nice sized portions, very fresh and very delicious. The desserts were wonderful, I had a warm chocolate cake with a soft center and my partner had a beautiful dessert filled with fresh peaches and apricots, and peach sorbet. We were so happy we hated to go back out to the gray day; however our unexpected find turned out to be the best meal of our trip. The Huitieme Arrt Brasserie has definitely been added to our list of favorites and we will return.
We are still sorry we didn’t ask about the spelling of “Arrt”! We will be sure to ask the next time we visit.
