“One of the best memories brought from Paris!”
Reviewed May 14, 2013

After a long and exhausting walk in Louvre, we were looking for nice and affordable place to enjoy a calm and friendly atmosphere, away from crouds and noise. Walking 10 minutes from Louvre we have walked in a small and cosy place, which advertised Ognion soupe for an attractive price. It was a wonderfull dish provided to us! The very best you can expect for the first time in Paris. Followed by wonderfull oysters the next day there and an astonishing escargots (snails). Our hearts conquered the owners - always friendly and eager to provide you an advice! You shall definetly walk in and try the truely wonderful dishes flavoured by best open-hearted atmosphere.
PS: for all sport fans - its the best place to watch a football or hockey match staying in the very heart of Paris!
Enjoy, while we will definetly come back!

“Great stop after hitting the grand magazines”
Reviewed April 23, 2013

We chanced on this restaurant while looking for one from our guidebook. Friend had recommended it years ago and if didn't disappoint. Food was very good and staff very gracious. Would recommend and go again.

“Good food and service”
Reviewed October 18, 2012

Went there for lunch and was not disappointed. Ignore the 1970s decor and find yourself a seat either inside or outside on the sidewalk under the awning.

We ordered a lunch prix fixe menu (€14 for a starter and a main course): the starter was a salad with iceberg lettuce, walnuts and parmesan and the main was a steak with a pepper sauce. We also orderd a main course a la carte (€16) an omlette with cèpes (boletus mushrooms). Both main courses came with fries and green salads. All dishes were freshly made and portions are generous. The bread was quite good too.

The blackboard caught our eye because it mentioned that all desserts are "fait maison" (home- made). The tiramisu (€6.50) was a bit too sweet but the to-die-for tarte tatin (€7.00) had big, tart and sweet pieces of cooked apple and was served with whipped cream.

Service was friendly and quick. It was cold and rainy out and, so, it's nice to be able to duck into a brasserie when you're half-starved, be seated quickly, order and then be served just as quickly home-made food.

The bill for 2 with tax and tip came to €43.50, which is quite reasonable for the area (2nd district of Paris).

“Great service, great food”

Owner and his wife were so nice and welcoming, nicest service we received in Paris. Duck confit was delicious. brought us out warm chocolate chip cookies for dessert. Can't say enough nice things about the owners.
