Couldn't have been happier with my stay. Very close to the bascillica indeed, and very friendly staff. Thanks everyone. From the steps of the Sacre coeur, you can see a beautiful panorama of paris. Spend at least a sunset or sunrise on those steps. My view was great as well. As everywhere, there are many great places to dine nearby.

My daughter and I stayed at the Ermitage Sacre Coeur for four nights. I had booked it several months earlier and Sophie couldn't have been kinder or more helpful in dealing with the changes that I made. The location is perfect: on a quiet street just steps from the Basilica, it provides authentic Montmartre community life, including great restaurants, in one direction, and the excitement of tourist Montmartre in the others. So much to see and do.
The hotel is a gem. Quirky, beautifully decorated, full of interesting objects. Our room downstairs was a delightful surprise. Covered in chintz, with beautiful paintings and furniture. The bathroom was great, lovely decorations, a small, deep bath and a strong hand-held shower head that lit up! Best of all, access to the terrace where we were served the freshest croissants, bread and coffee every morning. Maggie, the owner, is charming and helpful, full of stories and advice. We both enjoyed her and her family very much and felt cared for the whole time.
It won't be for everyone: no tv, little to no wifi, and you have to pay in cash. But it is terrific value for the location and a wonderfully authentic French experience.

Room Tip: The two rooms accessing the terrace are quiet and give an extra seating/eating place.

When my fiance and I arrived at the Ermitage we were thrilled with the location, a short walk from the beautiful Sacre Coeur and Montmartre. We were given the keys to room 2 overlooking the street, with a painfully small bath tub and a concrete step to the toilet which we often stubbed our toes on! No toiletries (small nugget of soap) and no attachment for the shower to be held. No television or radio etc. Poor WiFi. The breakfasts were ok, delivered to your room but the same every morning, tea, croissant and baguette with jam. No choice made the breakfast seem bland by day 4. The room had two double beds (family room) and I was 'told off' on the first morning by the owner when she brought our breakfast to the room as she had thought we used both beds! As I had only sat on the other bed I was a bit put out having to defend myself. The biggest let down to be honest was the sleep quality or lack of it. It was a very hot week and we could not have the windows open beacuse of the terrible traffic and 'crowd' noise from the street below during the night. Unfortunately, there were no fans or air con. I do not like to write disappointing reviews in fact this is the first, but that is what Tripadvisor is all about and I have had many happy holidays because of it. Plus side is that it is a very clean B&B and good location.

Room Tip: Not a room overlooking the street!

At the end of each day's sight-seeing it was a pleasure to return to the 'village' of Montmartre and our little home for 5 nights. The studio was immaculately clean and Sophie insisted on cleaning twice during our stay even though we were out all day and didn't make it dirty! It was quiet, being away from the street, with large windows we could open wide at breakfast-time, onto the balcony. There were shops and restaurants nearby, with the added bonus of the Place du Tertre and Sacre-Coeur for our evening strolls as well as the rest of Montmartre with its charming streets and village atmosphere. There are 3 Metro stations nearby: Lamarck-Coulaincourt, Anvers and Abbesses as well as several bus stops - we used the 80 and 85. Just remember that Montmartre is a hill, so there are steps to climb or the funiculaire to take you most of the way when approaching from Abbesses or Anvers. We would certainly stay in the studio again as the journeys to and from Montmartre each day added to our holiday - walking part way most days and using public transport when we needed to. Paris is not such a big city! By Metro, we were inside the Louvre museum within half an hour of walking down the steps in front of Sacre-Coeur. Breakfast is not provided in the studio apartment, which meant we could prepare our own - the local boulangerie is excellent, or eat out at the local cafe down the road. The kitchenette facilities meant we could prepare some of our own picnic food or eat a take-away meal, which was a cost-saving and convenient for anyone with special dietary needs. The wine in the small supermarket down rue Lamarck was excellent value and very drinkable! There were 3 corkscrews in the kitchen drawer! I wonder why?

Room Tip: We didn't see the other adjacent apartment, but the studio was plenty big enough for us as a cou...

My wife and I were recommended this little hotel by our French friends with whom we were going to spend 5 days last week. On the internet it looked ok, and indeed, its position near to Sacre Coeur and Metro stations couldn't have been much more convenient. Our room, Number 2 on the first floor overlooked the street with no view of Sacre Coeur itself. It had 2 double beds, so was presumably used as a family room because the second bed had matching curtains round it. The ensuite bathroom was very small with the tiniest bath tub we've ever seen and a hand- held shower and no hand grips, so neither of us was brave enough to use it for fear of slipping and crashing through the window and onto the street! The only toiletries provided was one tiny bar of soap.
Our bed was just a double with sheets and blankets and a bolster instead of pillows. The windows had to be shut because of the traffic noise below so sleep was hard to get.
There being no dining room, one had to phone reception to arrange for breakfast to be delivered to our room. This comprised one croissant, half a bread stick, a small pat of butter, and some marmalade or jam per person. No fruit or fruit juice, cereal, cheese or ham as you would normally expect. The only choice being tea or coffee. The tea was Earl Grey (yuk) and the coffee served in a jug - I thought the French invented the cafetiere, non? And strangely, no plates were ever provided, and you know how many crumbs croissants have !
The following day we requested pillows and slept in separate beds to get a better night's sleep.
The rest of our Parisien experience was fantastic and our French friends couldn't have been more welcoming or helpful. On our last morning they arranged to pick us up at 2pm to take us back to the Gare du Nord and Eurostar. We had to check out by 11am, so requested the lady proprietor to look after our luggage for 3 hours. I had already paid her the 460 euros she had demanded in cash.( No choice of cheque or credit card was given!)
On our return from a very pleasant couple of hours sight- seeing around la Place du Tertre at the Sacre Coeur, we returned at 2pm to collect our luggage and were hit with a demand for an extra 30 euros because for 3 of the 4 nights we had used both the beds in our room! The lady said she had explained there would be an extra charge when we booked in ( she didn't, and her Notice in the room only referred to tariffs if used by 1, 2, 3 or 4 persons.) Reluctantly we paid, not wishing to cause a scene or embarrass our friends who by then were waiting in the lounge which was as inviting as a waiting room in a funeral parlour.
We will return to Paris many times, but to a modern hotel with modern facilities, not the Ermitage.

Room Tip: If you read there is a garden and a terrace, don't expect to be able to use them unless you take...

Well very difficult to please to every body I won't answer to every thing too long !!I just want to point out : That all our prices are listed in every room (example in your case the use of the room as a double or as a twin and gererally our clients gently tell us when they use the room as a twin 2 double beds )
It's well note in our web side ( which you have read ) that a continental breakfast is served in your room and offered in the price (bread and croissant by the way you could have ask for an another brand of tea ).
We are about 20 % less than all other hotels around in same categories with free continental breakafast ( which they don't included )We try to keep good prices and this is one of the reasons we don't give toiletries as you said . You could have change of place in Montmartre if you were not felling good with us so you could more easily compare . Any way i wish you all the best for your next second trip in Paris !!!

Second Trip back to this well maintained property; the owner is warm, helpful, and knowledgeable.
Just down the street from Sacre Couer, the ermitage is a short uphill walk from the metro, as well as the bus stop. Taxi stand is at the foot of Rue Lamarck and Caulincouer. All sorts of eateries, patisseries, and boulangeries are within easy walking distance. Same goes for ATM/Cash Machines. Owner's fluent in English too. Easily one of the best kept secrets in Monmartre.

Only 50 euros per night is cheap for Paris. Location is not bad because there are lots of cafes, asia food ,bakeries and good supermarkets close by. Metro service is easy to take and only 1.70 euros all over paris. very logical and easy to follow directions. If no metro, location of hotel would be too far from everything. eg. eifel tower etc.
The room was ok and the bed comfortable. Good sleep was had.
The guy at reception was ok, but not going out of his way to assist.
BUt the bathroom! Boy is it small. Standing in the shower you touch all 4 sides.

Room Tip: No lift, so take a lower floor
