“THE BEST HOTEL TO STAY AT IN PARIS!”
Reviewed March 1, 2013

This is the 4th time in 15 years that I have stayed at this hotel and it never disappoints! My sister and I stayed February 23 and 24. It was her first stay and she kept raving about the 5* hotel that I had picked. The location is perfect for walking to the Opera Garnier (Paris Opera House), Notre Dame, The Georges Pompidou Center (Modern Art Museum), the Seine, not to mention many shops and sidewalk cafes. The rooms are a little larger than average for Paris, very clean and well sound proofed. The beds are very comfortable too. The Brasserie du Louvre is great for their buffet breakfasts, the Defender Bar is great for an evening drink and the Brasserie is also very good for dinner. A must stay location with a Metro stop practically at their door. I'll stay there again!

Room Tip: Not sure that there are any rooms that wouldn't be just fine. I've been happy every time1

We were worried our hotel might not be as it appeared on line but it was so very much more...
The rooms are very small, nicely appointed, Parisian elegance but the location made up for any size concerns ... We walked everywhere, the Eiffel Tower, The Opera, museums and more.

The staff were lovely, and always very helpful! We will stay at the Hotel du Louvre again!

Very high standard Luxury hotel. They had everything you needed and top standard. Rooms with Balconies facing the Louvre. Concierge will organise anything for you. All the little extra's in your room, bathrobe, slippers, vanity sets, bar. Lacked tea making facilities however. Bell boy offered to order taxi when we were leaving and overacted surprise when we said we didn't need one. Underground is right next to the hotel.

Room Tip: Ask to view the Louvre

Thank you for having taken the time to leave a comment following your stay at the Hotel du Louvre.

As you rightly mentioned it our location is truly spectacular. Each facade of the hotel is facing a parisian landmark : the Louvre Museum, the Opéra Garnier, the Comédie Française (French National Theatre) and the Palais-Royal square.

We also would like to thank you for your nice comments concerning our staff. Be sure that I will tell them about your kind words.

We would be happy to welcome you back in the heart of Paris !

My husband and I have just come back from a long weekend in the Hotel du Louvre. We had a a fabulous time. The first impressions were great, Reception staff very friendly and welcoming! We were given an upgrade from Superior to Deluxe. Our room was on the 3rd floor with a view of the square with Le Louvre to the right. Our room was very comfortable and clean. It was very warm, but it was such a cold weekend we were actually glad of this! We were literally five minutes away from the museum and 10 mins away from The Senne. Everything was very convenient to us. The breakfast was included and was more than adequate with an excellent choice. We nver had dinner there as we prefer to go out and eat. The bar was very expensive and one night we did decide we would pay the extra euros but the young girl in the defenders bar was so rude we left the hotel and found a more friendly place to have a glass of wine. She was the exception I have to say but we were a little disappointed to be treated so rudely! All in all it was a great weekend and we would return to Le Hotel du Louve someday!

My best friend and I stayed at Hotel du Louvre for 4 nights on a "girls getaway". We were in Paris to eat, shop and see the sights. The Hotel du Louvre was a great location for these goals. Our room was a superior room on the 5th floor. We had a small balcony that looked out over the square. It was nice to have the doors to open to regulate the temperature that got a little hot during the night. The down comforters on the bed were comfy but hot.

Our room was very clean but was not fancy or luxurious. In fact, it was spartan but had everything we needed. The size of the room was spacious and so was the bathroom. The bathroom was all marble and nice. The shower was hand held and the water temperature varied wildly from hot to cold which was a nuisance. The towels, robes, and slippers were very nice.

Wifi is free at the hotel. However, the service is not good and I had to log off the hotel wifi and relog on every time I wanted to change sites in order for the service to work. As a result, I was not able to research what I wanted to do the next day, look up restaurants, etc. while at the hotel.

The breakfast at the hotel is wonderful. Try the fresh squeezed orange juice!

You will be within walking distance of almost all the major sites, amazing shopping and restaurants. Location could not have been better.

We stayed here for 3 nights whilst attending the French Open. It is in a good central location for exploring Paris. We had booked a deluxe room which should have been really comfortable, but when we arrived in the evening we were given one of the unmodernised rooms on the 4th floor, which was disappointing having specifically requested one of the updated rooms. The room was very tired with chipped furniture and peeling paint. There was mould in the bathroom and the air conditioning was not working.
We asked to be moved and were repeatedly told that they would send someone up to sort everything out. Eventually, on our 4th and final evening, a member of staff did come and apologise for the room!
The bar is expensive and one evening we were charged an astronomical 14euros for a cup of coffee there.
Having said all that, the hotel itself is very pleasant and breakfast can be taken outside under an awning which is nice. I would be tempted to give it another try as long as I was guaranteed a room that had been updated!

Room Tip: Go for a high floor and a room that has been modernised.

Room 127 is a junior suite with views towards the Louvre - you can see the statues inside so no need to pay the entrance fee! We arrived at the Hotel du Louvre from the airport by Metro - the station is right outside the Hotel. Arriving at 12 noon, we were told our room wasn't ready but that it would be by 3pm. No problem, off we went for lunch. We loved our room. It has plenty of space, large comfy bed, separate wc to the bathroom and so on. Doors open on a small balcony overlooking the Louvre (and a fairly busy road). The hotel has an excellent bar and the brasserie looks really noce although we didn't eat there. Staff all great. The main plus point of this hotel is its superb location. Parts of the hotel are a little tired, but I wouldn't hesitate staying there again. We got a very keen deal through Venere.

Room Tip: Junior suite overlooking The Louvre. Room 127
