It was our first trip to Paris and we found this hotel centrally located and within walking distance of the Louvre, Notre Dame and the Latin Quarter. Our room was large and clean with a king bed. Bathroom had heated towel racks and robes.
The staff was very helpful and even accepted Museum passes and held them for us until we arrived. We didn't eat at the restaurant but went to Starbucks every morning for coffee.

Room Tip: Our room did not have a view so I don't have any inside tips on location.

Our first trip to Paris so difficult to compare, but we loved this hotel. The location is perfect if you are wanting to walk to see the main sites. We stayed in one of the Suites which had an incredible view of Opera Garnier. The room was large with a comfortable king bed, which seems somewhat rare for Paris. We did not eat in the restaurant but room service (breakfast and late night) was excellent. The bar is also very nice. The staff was very friendly and helpful, especially considering we don't speak French. I was looking for a 5+ star hotel with a vintage Parisian look and feel, in an excellent location. This property fit the bill.

Room Tip: Ask for room with view of Opera Garnier

A warning for those who intend to stay here. Do not expect your rooms to be ready at 3pm as promised. The front desk will try to buy you off with a drink at the bar and hide themselves after. The supervisor will defend her staff rather than attend to the problem at hand. I checked in with my family for 3 rooms and only one was avaiIable at 245pm. I was told to return at 3pm and when i did, was promptly told the rooms were not ready. I am certain they knew this at 245pm, hoping i would not return in 15 minutes. i did and they did not know what to do other than offer me a drink at the bar (which i refused). This is the problem with poorly trained staff. Rather than try and politely tell a customer the truth, they try to muddle the issue through deceipt. I am disgusted by the person who checked us in, as well as the supervisor who argued with me and tolerated her underling's actions of lying to the customer. I cannot believe they work in the same hotel as the concierge which exhibited professionalism and polish when i inquired about other matters with them. I am definitely not staying here again. I never received any apologies for the rooms not being ready on time or the rude behaviour i experienced. This is not a 5 star hotel in my opinion.

Great location, right in front of the Louvre and the subway. I spoke Spanish, English and my broken French with the staff and it was perfect to get guidance. Room was quiet, clean, and breakfasts were awesome! tons of variety.

The Hotel du Louvre is in a terrific location, close to so many great areas of Paris. All within reasonable walking distance were the Louvre, Musee d'Orsay, the Tuileries, Ile de la Cite, Place Vendome, and even the Left Bank area St. Germain. The beds were comfortable, the room spacious for two, and the bathroom was nice. Even the buffet breakfast included was good, the fresh-squeezed orange and grapefruit juices being nice treats.

The downside was the the hotel had a significant climate control problem: it was really hot. Opening the floor to ceiling windows was an option but the area is noisy. If they ca straighten out the heat issue I woud not hesitate to stay there again. Other nice hotels close any to consider are Le Meurice and The Westin.

My wife and I spent 4 nights here and had our adult kids meet us for 2 nights. Very convenient to The Louvre and many cafe's and restaurants. The hotel is very neat and clean, clearly has a lot of history and ambience. Unfortunately while we were there the weather in Paris was abnormally warm and the rooms were not able to be cooled down to a level of comfort for sleeping.
We enjoyed the stay and location and would stay there again.

Pleasant surprise. In the middle of everything and if you need the Metro, you can literally walk out the door and drop into the local stop.
Despite the noisy street, the room was very quiet. The breakfasts are excellent, the staff friendly.

Room Tip: upper floors for views
