This is a quick tour of the sewers under Paris. This is is nice tour for kids, as it is fun to see the inner workings of a sewer.

Here, you walk along four or five long corridors with sewer water running beneath you, while there are displays describing the history of the sewers. It stunk, and the panels and displays were a bit dated, but it was interesting and funny despite this. Nice way to pass some time in Paris.

This was not high on my list of things to see in Paris but my husband's friend highly recommended it so we gave it a try. I was impressed by most of the museum - the majority of information is written in French and English, is pretty informative, and interesting. But I was also surprised that it is in an actual working sewer! The smell is quite strong and the waste water from everyone in Paris flows in a canal right under you, separated by only a metal grate, while you're viewing the exhibits. It may not be right for everyone (especially those who do not enjoy walking on metal grates or pungent odors) but it was an interesting stop on our trip.

A different kind of museum, and one which is on my top list. Go under the street and see what happens after you flush your toilet. No better place for such a museums than the actual sewer system which will make almost all your sense part of the experience (no taste luckily but hearing and smelling)

Unfortunately much of the tour was wasted on us due to our lack of french. The group ahead of us looked like they were having a good time. A good deal of the tour is spent in or above an actual functional french sewer so was incredibly pungent. Information given in english on the signs was good but I was hoping for a bit more
