Near Notre Dame and St. Chappellethe latin quarter is always busy and seems to have a great collection of more resonable places to eat, especially middle eastern/greek food.

The old part of Paris, not forgetting Montematre, and well worth a wander for an hour or two. If you have visited Notre Dame then walk across the bridge to find this delightful area full of small bistros and bars. Intriguing architecture abounds in the narrow streets.

We stopped by the Latin Quarter after our visit to Notre Dame Cathedral to have a quick bite. We enjoyed the Turkish Mediterranean food, which the service was great with reasonable price. We also bought some chocolate from one of the specialty shop, expensive but quiet delicious.

Latin Quarter is where students hang out & is usually very buzzy..there are many cheap restaurants with set price menus 10 euros for 3 courses...there are lots of ice cream shops/crepe shops/bakeries to get to-go food...there are also tons of cheap tourist trinket shops if you are looking for budget minded souvenirs...I definitely would take a free walking tour in the area offered by various tour companies..the tour guides work on tips only (10euros) etc...very famous area with old streets & lots of history !

The previous reviews tell much of the story of the Latin Quarter. It is an interesting area to walk around, full of shops and restaurants which seem to cater mostly to tourists. For me, going to one of the residential neighborhoods and walking around there is just as interesting with just as many shops and restaurants minus the tourists.
