Montmartre is a great place to go to for a fantastic view of Paris, you can either walk up lots of steps to reach the top or you can opt for a tram which traverses the hill diagonally, if you want to get to the top you will have to walk up some stairs so those of you who struggle with steps may have trouble as I could not see another way to access the top.
Beware there are lot of people trying to sell you things (i.e caricatures etc) and peddle to you and you have to be a bit stern to get rid of them unless you want to buy something you don't need or want but generally this place is quite safe.
There are several café's and an artists market which is very beautiful and then there's the view which is stunning. We took a picnic up with us and ate it on the steps overlooking the whole of Paris.
This is a free (except the tram) and is a great place to see if you are visiting Paris, just beware of the pedlars and you have a great time like we did.
