It was just bumper to bumper traffic.
When we visited on the 13th June. Coaches all over the place, car horn so beeping for the sake of it. No body going anywhere fast.

Wanted to see the fountain but was switched off.

Just think we got there at the wrong time.

Just a big square, nothing special. The obelisk is the only nice thing in this square. You will get to this square in your way to the Champs Elysees.

Place de la concorde has a lot of historical importance apart from being the largest public square in Paris having the Obelisque.

its pretty huge with the obelisque right at the centre of the square. this is the place where the french king Louis XVI and his wife Marie-Antoinette were guillontined during the 1st french revolution period in the 18th century.

One can see the beautiful Eiffel tower also from here. The Tuilleries Garden and the shopping heaven (Champs Elysees) are also located closeby.

Do visit this place!!

I am still not sure, what is so spectacular about this, but now I have been there. Bit of a coincidence, that I walked past the place...

The sense of history in this square is its main asset - in particular the fact that it was the site of the executions by guillotine of King Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette, and also the impressive 3200 year old Egyptian obelisk. The throng of traffic around the square, however, do not make it a place in which we cared to linger for long.
