Owner description: Welcome Le Bon Marche Rive Gauche, the oldest department store and the only one of the Rive Gauche. A space for living and shopping, Le Bon Marche serves as a creative breeding ground designed along resolutely contemporary lines. Its spaces express the way it interprets trends and define a unique art de vivre.

This modern and clean café is simply amazing. The service is very nice and majority of the staff speak good English. The dish that I highly recommend is the Lamb dish for lunch. It is to die for. The lamb is seasoned very well and is cooked to perfection, they eliminated the raw smell of the lamb expertly. The lamb itself and the fat melts in your mouth and makes you want more. The kale that goes along with it is very good and accomapnies the lamb well; as well as the whole wheat rice. We did not try the desserts but they do look very appetizing. We reccommend this bakery to anyone who is shopping in Le Bon Marché.

Oui, certainement - yes, certainly, Le Bon Marche is chock full of designer duds and accessories, but so is Galeries Lafayette and it also has its glorious glass dome. Some of the staff members I encountered gave the impression they did not appreciate visits by foreigners who are not the BCBG crowd (elegant and of the "right" French background) they are accustomed to. They should remember they are sales-persons in a service industry in a city that derives a significant percentage of its income from tourism. Rude staff members killed my desire to purchase anything in the store. There are many other large and small shopping magnets in Paris. However, one pleasant exception at Bon Marche was the young man who sold us our tickets for a concert that night.

This is on of the best dept stores anywhere. All brands are under one roof. If you do not have time to go store to store on Fabourg-Montaigne-Champs Elysee then you come here because all the name brands and then some are here. It is spacious, well decorated and while we were there recenetly it was under renovations as they were adding new brands and their specific "store". They carry fashion, make-up, kids clothing, a lot of great books, it is really a bookstore to tell you the truth and you can sit there and thumb though some very unique books. We always end up buying something for my wife and the kids and then of course we head down to the Epicerie (food section). What a place. Two of my favorite places in Paris are the food section of Le Bon Marche and the food section of Galleries Lafayette. Their wine selection, food, specialty items to take home as souvenirs cannot be beat. It is a great place to also grab a bite or take some already prepared food home for the evening if you are staying in an apartment. Another thing I like about this location is its "location" in the Left Bank as it is really the only high end shopping mall. It is a must see...must go...must eat any day especially if it is a rainy day!

Best dept store in Paris by far!
I spent at least an hour in the book dept. Sitting on the chairs provided, perusing the fantastic collection of coffee table books.

If you're coming to Paris to shop for the finest, Le Bon Marche has it under one roof. This was especially great given that it was raining and cold most of the days we were in Paris, so we couldn't enjoy the Faubourg street shops as much as we want. They also have a children section that has in addition to clothes, toys and small bookstore of excellent quality. Loved it and my kids approved!
