Owner description: This royal palace, first home to Cardinal Richelieu and later a childhood home of Louis XIV, is longer open to the public, although its exquisite gardens can still be enjoyed.

This small park and garden is gorgeous. It is a wonderful place for one to recharge after a day of sightseeing.

You need to find it to use it! It is a park but also a place where you can do a little bit of shopping (unique boutiques) without the hustle and bustle. If you want to do some jogging or exercising in the morning - this is perfect. Beautiful surroundings, and with gravel - better for your feet.

The courtyards of the Palais Royal are one of the best places in Paris to sneak away from the noise and crowds of the areas around the Lourve for a nice lunch or just a stroll. The renovations and cleaning of the stone facades continue resulting in buildings that look brand new. The current temporary location of the Comedie Francaise in the center is a brilliant piece of architecture all by itself. The many shops, and restaurants are some of the best in Paris.

The first palace was built in the 17th century and buildings have changed until 19th century. French history went through this place. There is also a beautiful and quiet garden, because not always known by tourists. One of my favourite Paris monuments, with Louvre and Palais/Jardins of Luxembourg because of history and histories.

This area has two splendid vintage couture shops. They are impressive even if you aren't in the market for a 30 year old Givenchy wrap, etc. Fascinating. One only permits one customer at a time, so be forewarned if you actually intend to shop, not just look.
