“A Paris surprise!”
Reviewed November 5, 2012

Rode bikes to this glorious man-made park in the northern environs of Paris. It was spectacluar!
Very hilly, wonderful waterfalls, great views from the tower and a really good restuarant along the main path. A nice way to spend the day. A metro nearby for the return to my hotel.

“Another place for a walk and picnic in good weather”
Reviewed October 30, 2012

This is another favorite walking and picnic spot (in good weather) and generally is not as crowded as other more central places like the Tuileries, Jardin du Luxembourg and Parc Monceau can get. Some yet again seen worried about the 19ième as an area. I feel this is doing the place a disservice as I like it! It has a lot of character, reflective of the varied cultural mix here. Also, there is gentrification going on and at night, the peace is sublime! I guess those afraid of difference will have to keep to the more cliché bits of Paris!

“Pleasant enough, but not earth shattering”
Reviewed October 29, 2012

We found the park, after walking from Stalingrad metro. On entering we were faced with a lack of maps and signposts and it appeared to be the preserve of the jogging community. However, we ambled this way and that, towards higher ground to enable us to get our bearings. Parts of it were charming and we did find the viewing point which resembled a temple which is one of its most famous attractions. The view was worth the climb toward Sacre Coeur, but otherwise one if faced with an unappealing view of Paris suburbs and tower blocks. It was a pleasant park, but there are more beautiful areas toward the heart of the city. If you are unfit, give this a miss, as it is hilly and awkward to negotiate. If you have vertigo the suspension bridge is a horrible experience, not least because it wobbles and vibrates unpleasantly. The Luxembourg Gardens and Place des Vosges far outstrip this pard, and are much easier to get to.

This parc is simply gorgeous with all its landscapes, the rocks, a waterfall and beautiful trees. We had a pleasant escape from all the hustle and bustle of central Paris, so it was literally like a breath of fresh air. Good place for a picnic. The only thing I din't like was that it's located quite on the outskirts of the city in a seedy arrondisment (19e).
