Owner description: Located right in the heart of Paris in the prestigious of the Hôtel national des Invalides, the museum is to one of the largest military history and art collections in the world, offering a unique overview of the history France. It is one of the 5 most visited museums in France, with over 1.4 million visitors in 2015. A remarkable site full of history, the Hôtel des Invalides was founded by Louis XIV to house veterans and wounded soldiers. It now forms the unique, prestigious setting the Musée de l’Armée. We visited many museums with boys ages 6 to 14, and by far this was their favorite. Lots to see through the ages, and lots to learn about history, as reflected through wars over the centuries, the displays of armor, guns and swords was really overwhelming, then led up to and through the world wars, so truly was educational and impressive. And the boys never tired of seeing these displays and were very engaged, highly recommended

We skipped the military museums in the main complex and headed out to Napoleon's Tomb at the back. The tomb is a grand affair as befits the man. His brothers and general are also buried here.

There is a convenient cafeteria and decent restrooms next to the information booth. So if you just spent some time in Eiffel Tower, the Tuileries, and other attractions nearby, it is a good place to stop and refresh before you start your next leg of legging around or whatever. Both my wife and I were somehow not in the mood to look at weapons, armors and armaments right then, so we passed on that section. It maybe worth it for those interested.

If you into maps and military strategy this is the place to go. It.'s a hike to the fourth floor, but it's worth it. Probably one of Napolean's best non war jobs program. It involved survey, mapping, and building 3D models of key cities and strategically important areas. This was designed to provide military strategists and tacticians a tool to design, implement and execute troop deployments and battle execution

I enjoyed this museum, as I am a history buff. I only spent 3 hours there, but could have spend more, but my wife and daughter do not have the same enthusiasm. Do not get the audio guides, as they are overpriced. and really don't give much info.
