Our hotel is conveniently located around this side of town. You'll see mostly locals instead of tourist which is nice too since I felt like I was a Parisian even for just a couple of days. Not a lot of people speak english around this area but they will try to help or understand you. There's a lot of small shops around (good for shopping too!) and eateries, they also have grocery stores around which is very ideal. If some Americans will stay around here and you miss your regular american food, there's Subway, KFC, McDonald's nearby, which suprised me a lot!

Plenty little designer shops and cafés to take a rest from shopping.

I took the metro to Alesia to buy some presents for Christmas. By far, there are less shops than I figured up from reading former reviews. Probably at a designers depot you will find a bargain, but stores are not close from one another, it might take you long to visit two or three. Does not compare to shopping for bargains in NYC or Buenos Aires.

Jardin de Paris Hotel Alesia is a two star hotel with a 5 star staff. They are friendly and accommodating. The petit déjeuner has a nice variety with lots of fresh fruit. Small rooms, yes, but who stays in their room in Paris?! Color tv with BBC news so you can stay in touch even if you don't speak French. Nice neighborhood, boutiques line the streets, lots of antique stores, brasserie on the corner of the Alésia métro stop. Cinema and McDonald's (if you must) across the street from the brasserie next to the movie theater. Some rooms have views of the Eiffel Tower. Near the fire station and hospital, so you feel especially safe. A Monoprix grocery store with a Poilâne outlet bakery about a block away, on the way to the métro station. Lots of nice light food packages to bring home to the grandchildren. Not far to a post office. Trees and flowers every place possible. Highly recommend it.
