Next to the ibis hotel ideal if your staying there this huge market was there on the 3 mornings snd afternoons we was there the sat sun and monday its mainly clothes both new and secound hand a couple of hot food stalls and other bits and pieces and a few colourful charictors 5 stars for a free atraction
Yes, it is not chic and upscale - it may be not even "mid-scale".
But I found some very good old tools which I use for decorating my summer cabin.
If you don't mind applying some handwork, you'll find good deals occasionally.
And I once bought six pairs of French army leather gloves to work in the garden - 5 euros each! Much cheaper than similar gloves in a specialized store.
And I got e very nice tin cookie dish from early 20 century for 15 or 20 euros (see the photos).
So I was a bit worried based on the reviews..but I knew what to expect so I wasn't surprised. There are some really detailed reviews on this site. So..yes..there aren't as many antique booths BUT..I enjoy the "hunt" of antiques..so this was wonderful to me. There were many clothing booths etc..but just keep going..you will see the antiques..I never felt unsafe..I found some real gems. I like to set a low budget when attending Street Type markets. I spent around 30-35 euros..I purchased a set of 8 antique Petanque bronze balls 10 Euros!!! (clearly he either didn't know what they were or maybe I was tricked!!) I purchased two small French scene oil paintings 20 Euros. And a small wooden cheese board..2 euros. I was there all day..and had a small lunch from the food cart. So..this is a market for the real "Hunters".
The more central flea markets in Paris are probably more tourist friendly. This is a market for people from Montreuil and tourists. If you enjoy sifting through junk to find interesting things and oddities then this is the place for you. I've found many great things here that i will treasure and tiny amounts of cash changed hands. If you want antiques and twee keepsakes handed to you on a plate, which is fine, then go elsewhere. As for people on here saying it didn't feel safe, that is preposterous. I have been here numerous times before as a lone woman with mobility issues and i've been fine. If you are scared of people of colour then yes it may scare you but then you're a horrible racist so you probably deserve to be scared. If you wanna get pick-pocketed go to the most popular attractions of Paris. Pick pockets tend to target absent minded tourists with open bags, especially on the Metro. If you are careful you will be fine everywhere.
I visited here for a few hours on December 28th. Lots and lots of clothing at the beginning. You must walk far into the market to find other items and even then the treasures are few and far between. Lots of new things -- clothing, shoes, fabrics, watches, socks, jewelry, sunglasses etc., etc. Some vintage books, linens, lace, buttons, etc. but for the most part I found it a bit disappointing. Hard to say it's not worth the trip since flea markets are very subjective but I think I'd try other flea markets or brocantes before going here again.
My family & I wanted to go to bric a brac market.
We would not recommend this to anyone.
This market was dirty and cheap (not in a good way).
The neighbourhood felt unsafe, lots of graffiti.
There was no charm at all which is the opposite to what I'd expect in Paris.
