A grand square in the 1st arrondissement of Paris and famous for its greenish Vendome Column erected by Napoleon (torn down once and re-erected as a prominent feature of this square.)
In addition of having a piece of city history , this square also earned its reputation as home of some deluxe hotels (eg. Ritz) and salons of top fashion designers and famous jewelers. A place for celebrities to shop.
This was not my favorite square in Paris but it was great in panoramic views, day or night. I would sometimes came here for a walk in the morning or early evening, taking pictures and window shopping when I had a longer stay in this city.
Not a place on top list for first time traveler who may only stay in Paris for a few days, but worth to visit if you have sufficient time to explore Paris.
