Owner description: Dali Paris exhibits over 300 artworks by Salvador Dali from a private collection. Painting, sculptures, etchings, surrealist objects and furniture bring to life the peculiar ideas of an insatiable explorer, passionate about atomic science, the Antiquity, the Renaissance, alchemy or religion. Salvador Dali never stopped modeling, transforming. His sculptures are one of the major aspects of his life work, materializing in three dimensions his surrealistic obsessional motifs: soft watches, spindly legs animals, open or closed drawers. Salvador Dali had an encyclopedic culture, and reinvents major texts from international literature by illustrating them: Alice in Wonderland, Don Quichotte, the Bible, offering an infinite variety of forms and colors, from delicate watercolors to striking splashes. The Art Gallery will offer specialized advice thanks to qualified experts, archive consultation and catalogues raisonnes.

If you are a fan of Salvador Dalí you must come visit this museum. What an intimate place to experience his paintings and sculptures. Give yourself extra time to walk on the nearby restaurants and to enjoy the live artists and painters.

This little museum, just west of Sacre Coeur, took a bit of effort to find on a blustery wet day. There are quite a number ofstriking sculptures by this eccentric artist, including a couple of his whimsical melting clocks. The explanations accompanying the artwork were very helpful to interpret the artist's perspective and bring out his repeating themes in his art. I came away understanding this surrealist much better.

¿How to understand Salvador Dalí's artwork? Well, I think this is the perfect space for beginners to understand the artwork of one of the most importants artist of the 20th Century. Espace Dali offers to the public a perfect explanation of the author's ponit of vision and how literature, religion, erotism and love influenced him. As it is a short museum you can spend kind of two hours visiting it the heart of Montmatre, the center of art in Paris... and the still being amazed by the surrounding areas of the museum.

The entrance is 11 euros, 7 for students.

Went there on rather tight a schedule and found it an interesting introduction to Dali's work, personal feel due to the smallish space. Also the first grader accompanying could bare the less than an hour visit surrounded by surrealism.

You really get a great feel for what this artist was all about. There are many sketches, private pages from his diary, etc. that really show you how eccentric and wonderful this man was. The sculptures based on Dali's work are spectacular. I learned a lot about Dali that I didn't know and I really enjoyed the ethereal music and feel of the museum. It is small but so worth it especially if you are in the Montmartre District - don't miss it!
