I've been to E Dehillerin at least 5 times this past year....I wasn't looking for anything in particular but it's fun to browse. I have purchased a cute forest green apron (20 Euros) with their logo for my foodie sister in law, French onion soup bowls and some kitchen gadgets. It can be very busy so be prepared. They do a very nice job packaging your goodies for travel. Next to large shopping mall and other little boutique stores so you can shop and have lunch in the neighborhood.

Thank Lisa P

This traditional French cookware shop has it all. Very helpful staff will help you locate merchandise and most speak English, in case your knowledge of French cookware vocabulary leaves you wanting.

Sometimes there are places that are “off the beaten track” that - unless you know about them - you can just pass by without noticing.

If you love cooking equipment and you have always wanted to know where restaurants get their kitchen equipment from, this is the place. They have everything from restaurant-quality pots and pans (copper and aluminum classics) to every French pastry mould or knife you could possibly think of.

Unlike many cooking equipment shops that sell countless useless gadgets that simply end up in the bottom of your utensil drawer, the products sold at Dehillerin are “tried and tested” and must be durable and useful enough to be used in the restaurant and catering business.

I make my shopping pilgrimage to Dehillerin every time I am in Paris and run into the same types of people who admire good quality, reliable and non-pretentious products. Nearly every time I go I hear customers “gush” to staff how many years they have shopped at the store and how much they love it. (I can’t say that I blame them...)

Useful tip: The staff take things from you as you find them (so don’t be put off!). One you have finished shopping the staff present you with all your equipment packaged up and a hand itemized invoice ready for payment...just like they have been doing for decades.
Also, don’t forget to go downstairs where most of the heavy cooking pots and pans are.
Happy discoveries!

I have been dreaming about going to E. Dehillerin for years. It was everything I had hoped for and more. The wood shelves, the endless supply of handmade, quality cooking and baking products, the helpful staff, and the ambiance of a store that has been open since 1820 made this experience incredible. You would be hard pressed to not find the item you were looking for (and as another reviewer mentioned - if you can’t find it at this shop, then you don’t need it). In order to find the price of an item, you have to look for the code in a large book at the end of a view isles. Personally, this just added to the experience even more. I couldn’t recommend this shop enough if you enjoy cooking and baking!
