“Good hotel, but not great for the price.”
Reviewed August 20, 2011

Having stayed in many hotels across the world and more recently Europe, I would say that George V are working off the Four Seasons brand and are definitely lacking in many ways for the price. If the pricing was half then I would say it was outstanding.

Overall, rooms are a little tired, they are very large, bathroom etc is very generous, bed is great, however there is little standouts when you arrive to the room.

The introduction was very warm and friendly with a short tour. Reception is very impressive, flower arrangement impressive, nice cars out the front. The martini bar is also worth a drink.

We went to the spa resort which people were saying was one if the best. It is good, but certainly far from the best. I have been to ones in Asia that are far better and far cheaper. The pricing is seriously overpriced.

Our comparison is fair and is based on another top brand hotel we stayed in a far more exclusive area of Paris which was half the price and outstanding.

We spent two of our 7 nights in Paris at the George V. The other 5 were at The Ritz. This is a fantastic hotel with a young and vibrant staff.

Our junior suite had ample room for two adults and two young children. The walk-in closet was the size of some smaller Paris hotel rooms I had in my younger days. The bathroom was really well done and the animal soaps for our children were very much appreciated. (As were the snacks and cakes both afternoons.)

We enjoyed their pool area, though were a bit disappointed that it was closed on one of our two days because of some problem with the filtration. On a comparison between the George V swimming pool and the Ritz pool we prefer the latter, though the George V pool isn't that far behind. We just preferred the size and brightness of the room at the Ritz.

We would have no qualms about staying here again. However, if given a choice between The Ritz and the George V we would opt for the Ritz, again. The deciding factor for us is the location. We enjoy walking over to St. Germain and The Latin Quarter and from the George V that is impractical. With two children in tow at the George V we felt we needed to take a taxi to go everywhere but the Champs Elysee. With the Ritz we were content to walk to the area sites and museums.

There were a few mistakes on our bill due to errors at the Salon that we were able to rectify on later calls to the hotel. Mistakes happen and we were happy to see they were prompt in correcting them.

After being treated like garbage at The Ritz, we went to the George V. The staff was friendly, kind and went out of their way to be helpful. The hotel is absolutely gorgeous, and not to be missed if you go to Paris.

Beautifull hotel, very nice staff ( big effort considering its Paris ), the rooms are very confortable, big effort to make our children welcome, the spa is amazing! The Galerie is great at night, welcomes children but yet has an " adult " feeling with jazz nights and superb food.

During our stay my wife's glasses came apart (screw holding arm to frame fell out). Since she only needs them for driving and TV there was no immediate need to repair and left them on the table. Upon arriving back from a day out, the glasses were in the same place she left them, however, there was a note from the cleaning staff saying "I noticed these needed repair and took care of it." No name was attached, just a person that wanted to look after a guest.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the George V in Paris again.
Every time that i return to this beautiful hotel, it feels coming back home, just better! The welcoming smile and the generosity, humility & kindness of the staffs warm my heart. The attention paid to details of the entire hotel, the rooms are absolutely top notch and immaculate.
The rooms are all different and beautifully warm, cleverly and seductively designed. I am convinced that a lot of thought process had gone into every single decision for this perfection of this hotel.

The classy and elegant uniforms that flows from the Le Cinq ,Le Bar to the smart yet chic uniforms of the staff at the gallery and terrace flows beautifully. The George V service standards take you beyond the norm of expectation n blow your mind. Thanks you George V for being a great host of your palace and truly a league on your own!

Room Tip: Each suites has a different theme. Every decor is different for each theme!
