Unexpected elegance in the back of an average Paris boulevard, almost like a small palace with a carriage driveway and an open courtyard. The wonderfully kept rooms offer a view into a life of another era. We especially enjoyed the thoroughly documented temporary Hammershøi exhibition. For those who wish to have breakfast, lunch or afternoon tea in such elegant setting, they have a nice (but busy) restaurant on the premises.

Several year ago I attended a Canaletto exhibit at Musee Jacquemard-Andre. The exhibit was fascinating and the building was simply a gem. Once a privately owned residence in a northern Paris neighborhood it reminded me a lot of the Driehaus Museum in Chicago. Beautiful interior and great staff.

We didn’t expect to see such an interesting and stylish house, just off one of the biggest thoroughfares. It was a great treat. The cafe was excellent too.

Incredible mansion full of worlwide objects of art. An unexpected treasure trove of Turkish rugs, porcelain, marble , a complete chapel, paintings etc etc. self guide by downloading the app on your phone ( we weren’t told that at the beginning) or rent an audio guide with your ticket purchase. Terrific tearoom with excellent lunch and desserts

We missed the Picasso. and hope to get back to see it, but were delighted with this beautiful mansion, the permanent collection, the special exhibit and dining in the cafe. If only to see the Winter Garden and staircase, this beautiful small museum is worth a visit. And then there are the tapestries.... we were delighted with this gem
