Owner description: Built by Edouard André and his wife Nélie Jacquemart, both avid art collectors, in the new Paris being laid out by Baron Haussmann towards the end of the 19th century, this private mansion offers visitors a unique opportunity to explore a wealthy 19th century home. The museum presents a wonderful collection of masterpieces: Fragonard, Rembrant, Botticelli… This is the only museum open seven days a week in Paris, from 10am to 6pm.

The purpose of our visit to Paris was to see this exhibition and we pre-booked tickets in the UK so avoided the long queues. However they let too many people in at one time so you could not see the pictures very well. Also all the brochures were only in French so we had to purchase this from the UK (where it was in a number of languages).

First time visit to this Museum, it was excellent and for us slightly reminiscent of the Wallace collection in London. Elegant rooms with some great 19C furniture. A delight

A beautiful building, extremely fit for a Canaletto-Guardi exhibition, one of the most beautiful we've ever seen with extraordinary paintings of Venice.

The museum itself was fairly average - why don't the French ever dust the exhibits? -however the special exhibition of Canellettos was absolutely excellent.

A beautiful house kept in old style with a magnificent collection of art. The special exhibition on canaletto was very special. Don't forget to try some of the excellent pastries in the restaurant!
