Get there by 10 am to see the lady : Mona Lisa! After that it is a great experience of art and artists and a winderful facility. Make time to walk the grounds! The large statues on the main floor are ahh inspiring! Can’t say enough good about this place!

Make sure you go to their website and reserve a day & time to visit. Once you arrive, if you’re hungry, their cafe sells some pricy, but good food. Once in the museum, go and see the Mona Lisa. It clearly has the largest crowds and has its own room. Then stroll along the museum and enjoy the works of art. Once you feel you’ve seen everything, visit the gardens outside.

Mona Lisa is, well, still there and a lot less impressive than we imagine it to be. The paintings are great if you're an art aficionado but the collections of historical artifacts have nothing on the British Museum except maybe Greek amphorae. We came mostly for the Winged Victory statue, and it didn't disappoint. TIP: Buying a timed ticket is an absolute must unless you enjoy standing in line for 2-3 hours.

Pre booked ticket queue moves quite fast and the main museum was not that crowed. But of course we came to see the Mona Lisa. The queue starts in the main lobby - look for it near a banner of the Mona Lisa. This queue is around 40 minutes plus. It goes on forever and up several escalators and zig zags to the painting - where you are herded in large groups several metres before it. So there are people actually behind others struggling to see it or take photos. After a few seconds you are herded out again. It was so bad I found it funny. Oh well if you are in Paris you have to do this once.

You must have a Plan for the Louvre otherwise you will be frustrated and disappointed. First, get the Direct Entry Skip-the-Line ONLINE because it works. When you get to the Pyramid, the monster line (3 hours) is for those without a plan and the real short line around the corner is for the Direct Access. Go through Security (about 10 minutes) and you're IN. The Direct Access requires you to reserve an Entry Time and that makes the line so short and quick. You can buy a Ticket and enter at the other end of the Louvre, known as the Carousel' du Louvre Shopping Center IF THE LOUVRE ISN'T TOO BUSY. They do this when they don't have too many Visitors. Secondly, this is the Biggest Most Visited Museum in the World (Sorry about that New York) which means you need to plan for what you want to see or you won't see anything. The Louvre knows this and has their free App to help you choose (we used the Masterpieces of the Louvre Tour). Get the free MAP (get 2) and USE IT. The Louvre employees are very helpful when you get turned around or lost (and it does happen). There is an Audio Guide and it is helpful - especially if you are not an Art Historian. There are FREE Lockers for Visitors to use while in the Louvre. This is helpful because you WILL be there for awhile and you really don't want to be carrying stuff around if you don't have to. Third (still important), ask the Louvre Information Desk and/or the museum employees if the exhibit you want to see has moved. When we visited, the Mona Lisa was moved to the 4th Floor in a room near the Liberte' exhibit. We waited only about 15 minutes to see the Mona Lisa (they don't let you go in on your own - you go in as a group and then you go out as a group). As people found out what happened, the 4th Floor got crammed and had limited access (fire safety exit regulations) but we were already out to see Venus & Winged Victory. Not much else I can tell you that you haven't heard before. There are 4 Restaurants inside and there are lots of bathrooms so no need to worry. The Louvre is an amazing Museum so take some time and make a plan so you can enjoy one of the World's Greatest Museums.
