The hype of the Louvre was disappointing. It was busy with really long lines. The flow of people trying to see the most popular pieces was frustrating. It was miserably hot inside. Poor signage & the crowds were miserable.

Wonderful place to explore. Lots of people going in. Many levels and many different sections to visit according to your own interests. Sadly missed Egyptian section....found out that it is currently closed for some refurbishment. Still much to see and wander about in the museum shops. Went to see "Mona Lisa" but so many people standing in front taking photos and no one moving on so others can see. I think selfish people. Also hate the selfie takers....had to ask one "lady" would she move so I could take a photo of a painting..she did move. Lots of posing and different shots...would you believe...with sunglasses and with out sunglasses..head one way and then facing other way with hair being changed about too! "such a poser" Hilarious but hard for others to take photos with out someone standing in front! Several food places for a break. Also some of the larger "High end" fashion and other shops as well on the way out. it was not high tourist season and it was wet but lots tourists about. Hate to be there in July/August. Museum threatening to close for a second day a week(closed Tues) due to rude behaviour of tourists. Shame on the tourists. You are a visitor to their country.

Josephine was wonderful and was so knowledgeable in art and history! Plus, she injected the perfect amount of enthusiasm and humor into the tour so it wasn't too dry. My 18-year old daughter isn't even an appreciator of art, but she loved the tour too. And we got as close as you can get to the Mona Lisa because our group was the last in the room. We got some great shots! If you don't have much time in Paris, it's a wonderful way to see some of the Louvre's highlights without the mid-day crowds.

I should’ve booked it a few weeks earlier but we managed to get tickets for 4pm Saturday so we would have only couple of hours to look round. We managed to find the entrance from the shopping centre ‘Carousel’ which is underground and much less busy than the outside entrance by the pyramid - which looked manic.
The great news is that you don’t have to pay for under 18s so it’s a real bargain. You just turn up with the adult ticket and they wave the kids through.
We thought as we were short of time we would head straight for ‘Mona’ which we did. Not too many in the room but no way could we see if her eyes were following us. We then spent the rest of the time wandering slowly through some of the other rooms. Gosh that place is huge - you would have to stay in a month to see it all. Anyway - 2 hours for teenage boys is plenty- they have the rest of their life to go back again.
Came out same way and got ice creams. Great visit. Afterwards they loved playing around getting camera shots of themselves ‘tapping’ the top of the pyramid. Great visit - all 3 boys loved it (for 2 hours)

We booked this tour through Viator. Our guide's name was Adam. He holds a PhD in Nuclear something. Anyway, he was so knowledgeable and engaging. The tour far exceeded our expectations. 10 out of 10.
