This trip we returned again to the Louvre, our favorite museum. We bought tickets in advance from the tobacco shop in the underground shopping mall connected to the museum. This way we were able to save time and use the line at the Pyramid for ticket holders. So much to see at the museum. So review the floor plan in advance and pick out where you want to spend your time.

I am not an art museum person by nature, but really enjoyed this visit. I got to view quite a bit of art during various time periods without being overwhelmed. We bought our tickets ahead of time and did not have to stand in a long line. We used Rick Steven podcast for an introduction to the various rooms and to make sure that we did not miss the highlights as you cannot possible absorb everything you see. A must see even for the person without a lot of interest in art.

The louvre was the last major stop for us and honestly was not all that impressive. The exterior architecture is beautiful. The fountains are picturesque and I would highly suggest coming here to have a picnic in the area. Buy a ticket ahead of time, it will save you hours. Also go as soon as it opens or st night, it gets very crowded. The Mona Lisa is always jam packed, mind you this artwork is very small. The Egyptian exhibit was closed when we went which was a little disappointing. The French paintings were very beautiful, the monets and Rousseau's are worth seeing. The African sculptures were unique as well.

This museum is very confusing to navigate. The map is worthless. I would suggest asking the guides. It gets very crowded and is not super enjoyable to walk around in. There is a lot to look at, but don't expect to see any art post 18 c.

You can get bombarded with gypsys and people trying to sell you keychains so beware.

Take a entire day to visit the Louvre! You won't regret it! It's magnificent! The art and sculptures! Make sure to wear comfy shoes! Lots of walking! And shop at the end so you don't have to carry bags! Oh and make sure you have your phone charger or camera charged! You will be taking lots and lots of pictures! Totally blew us away! I must have taken 300 or more pictures!

Before we went to visit the Louvre we spent 2h the night before outside the Louvre. We went there at 10PM and stayed till around midnight and it was awesome, just to feel the atmosphere. We spent the hours watching people and listening to the city.
Using my imagination I went from the time when the Louvre was build through the centuries up to the footsteps of Robert Langdon in Sacrileg. And we followed the path that he took in the movie. The night was quite warm and the streets were quite and only few people were around.
We enjoyed the next day inside the Louvre with all its beautiful art. Although it was very crowded it was still very enjoyable and we could see all that we had planned.. And although it was awesome it paled compared to the night before.
