Normally travel to Paris on business. Has meetings in this part of town so opted to stay at this hotel on recommendation of a friend. Nothing wrong with this hotel and good for catching the sights in Paris....just not a business hotel. Poor room service, no iron (though one was provided upon asking). Very friendly though....would stay here as a tourist.

I stayed at this unique "hôtel de charme" for a week in October and due to the length of my stay, and the average size of the hotel's rooms, chose to rent a suite. In fact all the hotel's spaces, both public and private, are small. This is perhaps the only drawback of a hotel decorated with great taste in a uniquely French manner. Once ensconced here, it is easy to imagine yourself in a novel by Zola or Proust, so richly is the 19th century evoked by the St Simon's impeccable decor and rich atmosphere. The 21st century intrudes only in the hotel's excellent bathrooms and its free wi-fi. When you add to this a lovely and helpful staff, and the convenience of the location, it's hard not to feel lucky to be staying here. And if you want a very quiet night's sleep, the garden side rooms will have you thinking you're in the country! Highly recommended for a truly French-style hotel experience.

Room Tip: Rent the biggest room you can afford, altho' they are all pretty.

The location is great, in the Latin quarter near lots of restaurants, shops and museums. We planned to stay only one night. When hurricane Sandy disrupted our flight, the hotel was very accommodating. Rooms are small, but clean. Staff is very nice! Breakfasts are very good. Oliver served us wine in the parlor, lovely!

If you are looking for a very convenient left bank, very comfortable, very "French" hotel, this is it. The hotel is very small. The rooms are exceptionally small. The bathrooms have been redone and are great. The three rooms I had needed new bed linens. The bedspreads were old and one was stained, but housekeeping did respond to my needs. One room had a remarkably large terrace which was lovely but we never used it. The rate was cheap for Paris - 275eu. The lounge down stairs is a nice place for coffee and a croissant but there are no other services at this hotel. The staff was very pleasant and very helpful. This is not your typical big box hotel. Small, charming and a decent place to sleep. Very good left bank location. About $60eu from airport; $15eu to train stations. 3 minutes to taxi stand on Blvd Saint Germain.

Room Tip: Small room 12 has a great bathroom. Room 25 has a large terrace. Suite 1 is no good. Don't take it - right at front door, old decor.
