This small very French gem is in the best residential neighborhood (St. Germain des Pres), and we walked everywhere. A few minutes walk to Musee d'Orsay, Seine, Louvre, Eiffel Tower, Tuileries, Metro (Rue du Bac) 2 blocks away. The rooms are small (as in all city hotels), but so beautifully decorated (ours was all in grey toile) with a new modern bathroom. We felt as if we were in a French chateau. Ask for a terrace when you reserve, we did and our huge rooftop terrace, with table and chairs and plants more than doubled the size of our room. Staff very helpful, other guests mostly French. Our week there was heavenly, and we will definitely return.

Room Tip: Ask for room with a terrace or balcony.

After a lengthy web search for a mid winter get away in a small and intimate Parisan hotel we decided to stay at Hotel Duc de Saint Simon. There were numerous choices, however, in the past, having stayed at more contemporary boutique hotels, where service is often lacking, we decided to stay in a hotel steeped in tradition. The rooms were as expected, small but certainly comfortable. The bathrooms were newly appointed and quite spatious .
The concierge staff were very helpful and the room service was excellent when orders were placed. The breakfast visual presentation was impressive but the actual breads, fruit salad and coffee were uneventful and not worth the expense. I certainly hope that they will improve on what I would consider basic and fundamental . The hotel is located on a small and quiet street with a great resaurant , la Ferme de Saint Simon , just a few doors down. I highly recommend it . The hotel was under rennovation with work starting quite early in the morning which was a bit annoying. The hotel did do its best to move us to another room that was located in a quieter part of the building.
All said, I would definitely recommend this hotel

This hotel certainly lived up to its reputation with us. I had supprised my wife with this hotel while in Paris last year. I had booked one of the rooms with an outside area. Mornings were spend outside eating breakfast before we ventured into the city. There is a school nearby so in the mornings you will hear the children arrive to school, but if you don't mind that this place is wonderful. We discovered a delightful small retaurant nearby that adopted and fed us often as well which just added to the whole experiance. We plan on going back this year.

Room Tip: Splash for the suite with outdoor patio... its worth it!!

sadly, the rooms are as poky as a jail cell; the works seem to involve non stop chipping away at plaster that makes a jet lagged induced siesta impossible...the breakfast is a throw at you job at an exorbitant price, the bar is for hobbits, and the sheets left me with rashes and hives...of course, Paris is full of charmong places with hygiene problems and low service standards..anyone who knows of a decent hotel(eg like CLaridges in London) please let me know...am sorry to bee beastly to thse people but really guys you are not in the posing business, but in the PEOPLE bizzo....

Dear Guest,

Thank you for your comments on the TripAdvisor.
We are very sorry about the disappointing experience that you had with us.
We sincerely apologize for all the inconveniences especially caused by the renovation.
That is surely the reason for the allergic reaction as well. Luckily we finish very soon and
things go back to normal and the hotel will be beautiful and shiny clean.
We have also taken good note about your comments on our breakfast. We constantly try
to improve our service and our guests thoughts are valued.
We all wish you a lovely spring time.

Kind regards
Valerie Nouvel

This hotel, once highly-praised by friends, doesn't live up to its former reputation. Room renovations start very early and go on all day, every day. Fire alarm sounds at random with a mere shrug of the shoulders from staff who are mostly nice but inept. The charm has gone but the rather high boutique price remains.

A very charming gem of a hotel on the edge of Saint Germain des Pres and close to Musee d'Orsay. Very charming room, very helpful staff, and good breakfast places in the area. Should belong in the Top 10 of romantic Hotels de Charme in Paris ! Recommended for couples or friends. Tell me of other equally charming places !

This hotel lived up to its reviews -- it was very quiet and beautifully located. We walked to the museums and were steps from the Latin Quarter, with plenty of excellent bistros nearby. Style is old-fashioned fussy, but it looks like it grew there over time, rather than being a Laura Ashley makeover. Staff were knowledgeable and friendly, although there was a lot of concierge turnover. It was our first time in the 7th and it was a great choice, with places like 122, Laiterie Chlotilde and a Robouchon within blocks...and tons on the other side of the Invalides a short cab ride away. We splurged on a suite and it was worth it for the 5 nights...plenty of room to store clothing and suitcases, new bathroom, and none of the "claustro" feeling that Parisian hotels can give (we can vouch for "true" suites #18 and #19 which have two rooms). Yes, pricey, but...we would definitely return.

Room Tip: Listed suites are 1,2,3 and 18, 19. That latter two are two-room and without anyone overhead. 14 i...
